Reviews for Grand Iceland
It was not a Nissan NV200, they gave us a Ford transit connect (we would have prefered the new Nissan model). It work pretty well but WI FI, Radio, Fridge didn't work properly.
It was well equipped and they gave us some extra gas for the gas stove. The camper van was confortable and we slept very well.
It was a great car. Everything went well and the service was excellent
Our camper was perfect for us.
The bed comfort was amazing.
We loved everything about it. It took getting organized in the beginning but after two or three days we were totally acclimated to our camper van.
Everything worked smoothly and the car was perfect for our needs (and exactly as described on the website).
Great experience, great camper, very comfortable also sleeping (3 adults)
We had an awesome trip to Iceland. We were worried about getting an porosity Car and a trustworthy rental agency. We couldn’t have been happier with our rental and pricing. We also were greeted by a very friendly rep that helped us know area. The Land Rover was great and Iceland is magical. Thank you.

The Range Rover Evoque is a fab car and ideal for the F roads. It was tight for luggage space for 4 adults but we managed. Grand Iceland was very helpful and very relaxed to hire from - a good experience and I'd certainly use them again.
The service was excellent. They came to get us at the airport and at the end drove us to Reykjavik. The camper-van was what we expected, but needs some work on the brakes ( shaking). Oveall, a great experience and we would recommended the company to friends .
It was good. The proprietor was very nice but didn't recommend or push Amy upgrades. He also didn't warn us about parking again the wind. My wife got the basic plan and assumed he would make recommendations once we arrived. But we just got our can and went. We weren't warmed about how to park against the wind and the van got wind damage to the doors which were now have to pay for.
Thank you so much. We are completely satisfied. Thanks also for letting us keep our luggage at your place. When we come back to Iceland next year, we will definitely keep you in mind when deciding on a camper rental.
It was a great experience. All went well and we had no problems with the car in any way.
Fair price for 4x4 rental in Iceland!
All was excellent! Picked up at airport as planned and returned to guest house near airport. Van heater was great, stove & cooler worked well. Bed was comfortable. Our parked vehicle was hit while in a mall, the incident was looked after by insurance with no issues and you had all information when we returned. Thanks Northbound and Runar for making our Iceland vacation great. Carolyn and Rob (Alberta Canada)
Great product. Easy check-in. Very knowledgeable. Very friendly. Thanks for a great experience!

Good driving, any problem with the car. Almost 2400 km wihout any incident.
Grand Iceland was great. Everything was exactly as previously described. The van worked well and we did not have a problem. The staff was very friendly. Northbound was a good middle platform, I was a bit suspicious, as all reviews are so positive here and nothing bad. But it worked out alright.
It was easy to do business with Grand Iceland. We booked on line where I was able to compare rentals easily. We were picked up from our Reykjavík hotel and given touring ideas to compliment our touring itinerary. I choose the Ford Transit because it was compact and fully lined with carpet. The vehicle was reliable and easy to handle for someone driving on the other side of the road to normal.
We had a wonderful time touring Iceland in the camper van. The van had no issues. The pickup and dropoff was on time. And the people who we dealt with provided great service. This was our 3rd trip to Iceland (1st time with Northbound) and we would definitely go with Northbound again.
Grand Iceland was great. The car was really clean and new. You can tell they take care of their vehicles.
We were only in Iceland for 4 days, but what a treat. We rented a 3 space mini-van from Grand Iceland and could not be happier with the choice. We were picked up at the airport and brought to the van which had all the gear we needed for camping and cooking. The van was in good shape and had both heating to keep warm and a cooler for drinks and food. The bed had linen and was very comfortable after long days of hiking and travelling. We did have a small accident as a rock from a passing truck shattered the windshield which needed replacing and we were only asked to pay for the 15% deductible which is more than fair... thanks for that! I can highly recommend Grand Iceland for being welcoming and friendly with great focus on customer service. Thanks for the times, we'll be back!
We had an amazing time touring Iceland in our Ford Transit camper van. That was definetly the way to go. Next time we are back though we will probably rent a little bit bigger one.
Gummi was very accommodating and helpful, though we were disappointed in the vehicle. It was smaller than we expected, and difficult to live in in terms of cooking and accessing our gear. Probably our fault for not paying more attention to the details in the description. Also, we were in contact with an email rep of northbound, and he assured us, for example, that there would be a coffee press in the van. However, at Grand Island, they had no idea we were expecting a coffee press, and did not provide one. We bought one. Overall we think the prices in Iceland for things like renting campervans are out of line with the rest of the world in terms of value.
The service was great, the vehicle as expected, clean tidy and reliable.
It all went very well. Pick up and drop off was great.
Amazing country, fantastic scenery.
Everything was smooth, but unfortunately not without worries.
The tires were very worn out, the summer type ones and of different brands(front left and right). This made the car feel very unsafe on wet and icy roads.
The car could have been easily cleaner as-well, but this is not something that bothered us much(the tap water had residues in it but we cleaned it up, the blankets had hair strands that were not our own, there was dirt/sand in the different pockets and cup-holder spaces).
We left with an empty tank but the guys allowed us to bring it back empty so this was OK-ish after all.
The WIFI router needs fixing or replacing, it sometimes disconnected without notice, even when the engine was running and power was on.
Everything else was great and Iceland it's self compensated in full :)
Fantastic trip, a very welcoming and friendly representative picked me up at the airport for the half hour drive to collect the camper in Reykjavik, which was a newer model and had been valeted to a high standard almost to the point it looked brand new inside and out. After an informative introduction to the workings of the camper, fridge, night heater, WiFi and some useful driving tips I felt prepared for the trip.
My only issue is I could not get the WiFi to work for the entire trip as it would not connect to the internet but this may have been down to my phone possibly, the owner assured me he hadn't had problems with it before. Fortunately my UK network allowed me to use my data at no extra cost so it didn't impact my trip. I would suggest making sure this works before beginning you leave the yard.
On return the handover was very simple and quick and was driven again by an extremely friendly representative back to the airport...
Excellent vehicle in excellent condition. It was a little disappointing that the camera system was non-functional, but the on-board Wi-Fi was an amazing benefit for us as we were traveling from the USA and it allowed us to forgo getting SIM cards.
Perfect for what we wanted. Heater worked great running off second battery.
