Nordic Car Rental in Iceland

It was very good!!

The car fulfilled all our needs, a small issue with low brake fluid was quickly solved after a referral from the technical support to a nearby garage. Collection and return of the car was smooth and courteous. I would rent again and recommend this company.

I had a great experience with this company. They had a shuttle bus to and from the airport that was super easy to find. They were very accommodating and easy to talk to.

It was just what we needed. Automatic. Big enough for 5 people. Amazing experience.

Service was excellent throughout - booking, pick up and return. Appreciated being told in advance about the Akureyri tunnel and the weather advisories during the trip. Car performed fine and met our needs well. Giving a little more advice on gas (benzin) given the lack of chip & PIN credit cards in the US would be a good addition. N1 pre-paid cards worked great.

Nice car. No issues

The car was an older car with a lot of mileage on it, but we expected this. We felt very safe in it, however as soon as we received it the tire pressure light was on. We were slightly worried about the tires during our trip. Aside from the tires, the car had great gas mileage and served us well! The pick-up from the airport and check-in process was very easy and everyone was very helpful.

Renting from Nordic Car Rental was a top notch experience. They met me at my hotel right on time and took me directly over to the rental office where the process was quick, efficient and friendly. The agent clearly explained the different options, regulations and coverage I was choosing. She took the time to treat me as an individual, asking how my trip was progressing so far. When she asked where I was planning to visit for the rest of my journey, she was genuinely interested and wanted me to really get the most out of my adventure. The Suzuki SX4 I rented, though a few years old (7) was exactly what I needed. It handled great, was clearly well maintained and was remarkably fuel efficient at over 700km to a tank of gas! I would definitely recommend Northbound and Nordic Car Rental to anyone looking to rent a vehicle in Iceland!

Our expectations were exceeded big time - an upgrade on the car, wonderful support from staff, very nice and reliable cars, perfect location (when we booked we had no idea you are around the corner from Fosshotel Baron), reasonable prices and no deposit if a credit card is used. I have no doubt where we are going to rent a car when next time in Iceland!

The car was suited for our needs. I felt like we were rushed through the check-in process and more time could have been taken to fully explain things. For example: You need a CC with a PIN or a debit card to get fuel unless you go to an N1 station. We were also not met at the airport and I had to call to find out when they would arrive (30 minutes after we landed). The staff was friendly and courteous though and I would rent from you again.

Good experience. Vehicle was good. Bit of a wait for airport transfers both on arrival and departure. Price was good.

The car is modern, with a USB jack. The car company offer me the opportunity to turn back the car in Reykjavil downtown. (Took at the airport). Great regarding the price

we were told we would be met at the airport, in truth we have to wait almost 40 minutes before someone showed up & when we asked the information person she said, yes they come around every 30 minutes. after a long flight over it's not fun to wait around for the rental car van. the office was run down, they said they were doing up grades but really there was no place to sit / it was cold / and signing paper work was done an a small piece of counter the car was fine / not new by any means/ but ran well it had lots of tings and scratches so we had to mark all that down, and a crack in the windshield - which we were very warned about the gravel roads etc. its' a lot of stress to hear when you are tired / have waited and just want to get on your way. the personal were however friendly and offered us coffee

The car was in excellent condition and very convenient to pick up. We went into the Reykjavik office to request an extra day with the car and it was no problem to extend. Pick up and drop off was very easy and the staff were friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this service in future.

We visited Iceland for 9 days in April 2019, and we rented a car from Nordic Car Rental. Their service was very good. The price was the best I found in Iceland. There were no issues with the car. Highly recommended.

Excellent

Old car with too many kilometers but good value of money if you think Iceland is very expensive country. Even the weather was bad, the car driven us almost everywhere.

I wasn't sure of what to expect as the company was newer in comparison to others, but I found it to be quite reasonable and my car was fine. The customer service was great and professional!

The Rav 4 was an excellent vehicle but the service at Nordic was spotty at best, after two days of having the car we discovered a foul odour building up worse and worse each day. To the point where we had to return the vehicle to Nordic, the customer service was a painful experience as I was redirected to 3 different departments before they finally gave me another car. Unfortunately, the car they gave me was smaller than the original Rav 4 and apparently more expensive on top of it all. The issues didn't stop from there as the car we received reeked of a chemical odour to mask the gas smell that it was having due to a bad gas line. Overall the price was not worth the service of the vehicles or the customer service of the staff. I tried to get clarification and talk to a manager but was never given anything until I paid for my rental in full.

Just back from using Nordic Car Rental on a first time trip to Iceland with my boyfriend. They were incredibly easy and professional to deal with. The pick up and drop off service at the airport was very handy. The vehicle we drove was great. For people not used to driving a right hand drive car, I recommend renting an automatic, like us. Definitely will use them again if going back to Iceland in future.
