Well the car wasn't that bad but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone on gravel road it was a real pain for me.
We visited Whales of Iceland and thoroughly enjoyed it. The audio guide describing the life size models was very interesting. It was great to get to see the size of the whales as it is difficult to imagine how large they are. The cafe was very reasonably priced and the hot chocolate was delicious.
Lots of helpful advice and good information provided by Gusti, (along with his choice of Icelandic music) Being a smaller group did make it easier to fit site seeing stops around some of the bigger tourbuses. The brief stop with the Icelandic horses and sheep was lovely extra. Not wanting to drive, this was a great way of meeting others and getting to around the country with the bonus of information being given when appropriate. Great day
The night we had booked this tour was cloudy and we spent nearly 6 hours in the coach trying to find clear skies. Got back to the hotel at nearly 3am! We were all exhausted. Said we could rebook as we didn’t see the lights. I emailed them and we were booked the following night. Unfortunately one of our party was too exhausted to go due to the late night before. There were clear skies and the northern lights were visible (it was a shame one person missed it though). I don’t think they should take you out if it’s cloudy because there is no way you will see the lights and driving round for hours on a stuffy coach in the pitch black is no fun. However there were no problems rebooking.
It was ok, Northern Lights was obviously mainly Icerental 4x4 as our rental had a Icerental 4x4 sticker of the logo on it and all the employees had jackets with that logo. Also, after going though the insurance options online and doing some research, we felt confident what we had selected would work for our trip. The person we dealt with in regards to the paperwork, while nice, seemed to be almost trying to scare us in a passive way to buy more insurance. We did purchase one extra area of coverage beyond what we originally got online, but didn't really appreciate that sort of passive pressure. Also upon drop off, we wanted to outline a couple of minor items with the vehicle we found while we drove it, but after a quick glance to check the car out while we were getting our baggage organized, the employee said we were good to go, right when the airport shuttle showed up, so there was no time...

Hi Runar, well, very good experience and the van very well, you have a beautiful country. but I do not think it is necessary, to rush so until the last moment, where would be the vehicle or the code of the padlock. you spend a bit of anguish, know where your car and house is 24 hours before, avoid unnecessary nerves. Otherwise everything very well. Thank you

The Dacia Dokker 2017 got changed to a Ford Transit Connect, which is basically the same and was really nice. However, it was not possible to change the interior from mattress to table.
A fine little ride that was absolutely able to conquer the world. Or at least Iceland. It took us to places we would never have reached without this little 4X4.
The people from GO we’re friendly and helpfull. Picked us up at the airport and gave us short but clear instructions about the car. Drop-off was easy with the keys in the glove compartment.
Downside? Well....maybe the one radiospeaker that didn’t work, the noise the car produced or the fact that it acted like a windsurfboard with a little wind. But isn’t that all part of the adventure?
The car was suited for our needs. I felt like we were rushed through the check-in process and more time could have been taken to fully explain things. For example: You need a CC with a PIN or a debit card to get fuel unless you go to an N1 station. We were also not met at the airport and I had to call to find out when they would arrive (30 minutes after we landed). The staff was friendly and courteous though and I would rent from you again.
The car was rather well worn, bad tyres and windscreen wipers. But its was the cheapest one, and I guess you get what you pay for. We are pleased with what we got and I think I could recommend your services to my friends. Cold and crowed, we froze a lot. But that`s our own planning!
Good customer service and very understandable staff. Car was in pretty good condition and worked well.
In general, the whole process was good amd easy. When I went to pick up the car some details, showed on the website were different from what they had on their system such as free extra driver, free sleepping bag for example. There was a charge for the extra driver and for the sleeping bag, they also had a table and chair request under my profile which i didn't ask for, the kitchen box that I actually marked as necessary wasn't included.
I believe it was a glicth in the system but luckily I checked the information and we could fix before the payment.
One other point to be improved is the communication channels, either email or phone. Having a lot of tourists from all over the world can be challenging and demanding but it would be great to have at least one 24/7 way to reach the company. I understand this is a third party company connecting customer to rentals but in any situation we need a back up and support from someone...
The car is modern, with a USB jack.
The car company offer me the opportunity to turn back the car in Reykjavil downtown. (Took at the airport).
Great regarding the price
Overall quality satified us. Everythind went well. Though, we'd like to feedback as following.
It seems that Thrifty staff was quite busy when we arrived at the office so we waited nearly 30 mins to get our car. Moreover, the price we've paid is not as same as showing in the voucher but it was not much difference so we've paid it as Thrifty advised us.

A very nice car. However with 6 on board we had to put the suitcase on the left hand last row seat, with one of us being pretty crushed beside it. However your staff were superb at Lotus.
Car was great, but they deducted 10000 IKR for picking up the car from airport parking (over the phone they said it was going to be 5000 IKR)
The car has a noise in the second and third gear. Also, there was a light of a problem in the engine allí The time. Apart from that, everything was fine.
nice and comfortable, but the point that i ll be picked up at 12 pm (time of my rental starting) was confusing.
My flight landed at 10-20 AM and i waited till 12 PM for a manager of Blue.
I ve spent also about 1 hour at office before taking a car (first waiting, than first car proposed was with broken door look as i saw, then checking another one).
So, maybe its needed to write more clearly about airport pickup time and time needed to check and take a car.
but, the car, the booking online, was perfect!

We had a Grand Vitara , no problem with a car , only with a low batterie and some days with low temperature is not possible to open all the doors with remote control , only the door driver and after we needed to start engine for open the rest . The battery need to be exchanged . Good welcome at the office personal are very friendly .
My friend and I rented a car from Northern Lights Car Rental for more than two weeks and we didn't regret our choice at all. The car was perfect to drive around Iceland, comfortable and exactly how portrayed at the website.
The customer service was good, everything important was explained to us and we were also told about all the dangers which might occur during our roadtrip in Iceland.
The only negative aspects were that we had to wait at the airport for half an hour to be picked up even though we send them our flight information and arrival time.
The car was great. The rental process was smooth. My only complaint is that we were an hour late getting picked up from the airport.
No issues with the car or return, and great prices, but had a very long (1.5h+ ) wait to pick up the car even though they were only serving one customer.
Fairly quiet for a diesel. Great fuel economy and ground clearance.
Great Iceland, I wish I where there again. Suzuki nice car to discover all the fantastic places in such a wonderfull island eventhough a little beat " high fuel consumer".
