We had a Toyota RAV4 and it was perfect to drive through the snowy country, but a little more explanation about the use of the 4x4 buttons would have been helpful .... But we had a great time and a lot of fun and that's the most important.
The experience was good. We had four wanderfull days around the south-east of Iceland. The van was ok but some things didn't work as the behind Door.
The vehicle was clean and in good condition. We were expecting a larger vehicle (we were 6 people + luggage), the description was for 7 people + 4 suitcases, if I am not mistaken, but it could fit only 6 people + 2 suitcases. Which mean we had to leave the kids at the airport for us to go at the office to sign contract (because we could not fit with the guy from Magic). And we had to do the same when we left. Our plane arrived earlier than schedule (almost one hour), so the fact that we had to wait for pickup (no office at the airport) was not the greatest, and the pickup was 45 minutes late (I had to call, no one was at the airport at the time that was agreed). Plus another 45 minutes to go to the office... Staff was really nice.
I rented 3 cars for our group totally over 40 days of rentals. In general it was a fair experience your lower price was the attraction.
I had rented this vehicle for 2 weeks and to turn it 4 days early because of illness, When I requested a refund I was originally told no, I was eventually given a 2 day refund, Given i had rented 3 cars there should have be no question refunding the 4 days.
Allowing only a 3 hour window to pay the tunnel fee is a tourist trap. People are there to enjoy their vacation and scenery of Iceland not rush around looking for a internet connection trying to time a tunnel crossing, Placing a surcharge on top of it is just wrong. Makes Iceland look like a 3rd world country.
I did not like the idea I had to inspect the vehicle for previous damage and make notes on a sheet, to much room for error or overlooked imperfections, it should not be on the renter to document the problems...
Mechanically the car ran great with no issues. My only gripe would be the windshield wipers. I don’t know when the last time they were changed was but you guys must change them on the vehicle I drove ASAP. It was borderline dangerous driving in the rain, it just smeared the water and didn’t make it any clearer seeing out of the windshield. I would suggest you check the wipers on all the vehicles in the fleet just to be safe. Our windshield did not crack but with the amount of chips in the windshield already, it would be a shame for one of them to splinter across the whole windshield and leave some unlucky customer paying for months and months of accumulated damage. Customer service was great, promptly picked us up and took us to the airport. All around great service, just change the windshield wipers on the Duster with plate LTJ73

Our “upgraded” 4x4 was very rough and sounded like it was going to fall apart anytime we hit any sort of bump or pothole which is a lot in Iceland). Tons of safety warnings going off and we were told that’s because they do their own maintenance and don’t reset them. Pickup was fantastic. After dropping off the car after a week the shuttle vans were absolutely disgusting, we sat on our bags to avoid sitting in the dirty seat. But eh, that’s life!
Was great. Friendly staff, good service, good little car. Will use Lagoon again when renting.

Der Suzuki Jimny ist an sich ein gutes Auto aber meiner meinung nach nicht sehr geeignet für die Wetterverhältnisse in Island.
bei starken Windböhen muss man extrem darauf achten das der kleine SUV auf der richtigen Spur bleibt.
The car was a cause for many laughs. We did not mind that it was a used car, but the fact that it had two sets of keys, one to open the door and one to turn it on, was, well, unexpected.
All the experience with you was great but...
- The 4WD on my jimny (GZL13) was not working
(luckly it was not a problem during our journey)
- The wipers were so old that i had to swing front with rear to can see something
driving by night.
Anyway i'm pretty sure i will recommend you to my friends.
Very nice prices, good staff, everything was fine.
Rental car was satisfactory but pick up at the airport was almost an hour late. I would not recommend using Lagoon for this reason. The staff were apologetic, said they were very busy. They need to hire enough staff to accommodate airport pick-ups.

Suzuki wasn’t available got issued Dacia duster. Smelt of petroleum apparently washed matts in substance that smells like petrol . Not very fuel efficient but did the job.
The Toyota Rav4 I hired was great, the only downside for me was that there was no boot interior cover, which left my luggage on display through the windows, when we were travelling around
Good company, and good car. The light broke in the middle of the trip but because I had good insurance there was no problem. My advice, take lots of pictures before signing your contract.
The car I received was pretty banged up, high mileage vehicle ~100,000km on clock. 4WD only activates during low speed driving, and the tyres were regular tyres for a January trip, no studs on. The lights consistently had to be adjusted, as the switch needed to be in "just the right position". However, it did get us everywhere we wanted to go as I drove mainly on Route 1.
Lava car rental however were good, professional and acknowledged all the faults on the car prior to giving me the keys, whether I could have asked for another.. I didn't try.

We were generally pretty happy with our rental. The car did great for us and got us through our trip as expected. The positives with your company were the price of the rental, friendliness of staff, and quickness of pickup/dropoff to airport
We did not give a 5-star rating for the following reasons:
-The extremely expensive deposit that is needed if you don't buy insurance is not communicated well on your site or during the booking process... that was a huge surprise to us and wish we would have known this before
-We did have some issues with the cars electrical and it forced us to not be able to lock our things that were in the car up at some points.. we had pretty expensive camera gear so this was added stress and did limit how far we were able to hike and travel on some days.
Very good price, in general very good car condition, except milage 160k bit risky when we go around whole Iceland, so please provide such details in advance to people. You can differentiate even the price range for fresher cars.
Gasoline was 1/4th this is not acceptable and I never seen in Europe such things before. You always give full tank and receive full or charge people extra if it is not full.
Airport transfer, 1h delay because some of your team members didn't want to work that day, not acceptable, so please improve that. Otherwise I have very positive experience for that price.
I traveled to Iceland and I rent a Suzuki Vitara Diesel. Very capable car with higher & larger tires than ones I saw on road. Very useful on Ice and snow. Consumption was also good 600km with one full tank.
Team very Helpful and friendly. I made a mistake in our reservation and it was solve very quickly.
Only issue was they supply to me an old RAV 4 at my arrival.
After my refusal they found solution to provide me my order, the morning the day after at Reykjavik.
Good service on time and delivered what was promised. Car was great and suited our needs.
Good experience overall. Car was changed to a forester that was equally good. Staff at lagoon helpful and efficient.
Not bad, we got the car in a used conditions tho (windows and doors not working properly)
Car was good, no problems with rental or return. pickup from the airport and return was good. Just the guide to pick us up from the airport was not really a friendly person.
