Car Rentals in Iceland

It was easy to drive and had loads of space. the car was reliable and handled well. The rooftop tent was super easy to set up and down.

Very nice and almost new car. This car was full of hightec functions and very comfortable. Good for four peaple and lots of stuff. We traveled nicely almost 1600 km and we payed only around 100-110 litres of petrol. Very kind personal, very helpful. Usefull shuttlle from and to aiport. No problems with insurance. We recomend.

The first car I got had a problem with front wheel vibration at 75-80 kph, but was immediately exchanged for another Suzuki Jimny with no problems. As a bonus I got a table and chairs for free. The second car was in good condition for a car with 220,000 km on the odometer. Everything worked as it should, except for the handbrake. It had a little loose grip on the wheels, so I was not comfortable when I had to start the car uphill. And the key fob should be replaced with a new one because it had such worn buttons that it was difficult to remotely lock or unlock the doors. Many times I had to open the car manually with the keys, which was inconvenient for daily use because I had to open the passenger door first and then the driver's door from the inside. The roof tent was new, so it was in excellent condition and worked very well.

The experience renting with MyCar was fantastic start to finish. Reservation was easy and the car was exactly as promised, clean and low mileage. Pick up and drop off shuttle was convenient and on time. All in all a 5-star experience.

Working through Northbound and Lava Car Rental was a great experience. Lava is very well organized and attentive to client needs. I actually had to call them on something and they immediately picked up the phone and told me what I needed to know. I'm a U.S.'er so not used to European style cars like the Duster but it worked out very well and we were a little sad to say goodbye to it.

The staff at Go Iceland were fantastic and super helpful. The check-in and check-out processes for the vehicle were fast and easy. We had an issue with the windscreen and tyre pressure sensor but they checked everything and assured us that it would be ok. Would highly recommend them.

We turned down the first vehicle offered to us as the rear light had been smashed and was taped up. The salesman tried to persuade us to take it, but we were adamant and alternative was offered. The tyre pressure light was permanently on for this vehicle which we were again told was nothing to worry about, and at 160,000km on the clock the mileage was high. It lacked acceleration going up some of the hills and there wasn't much space in the boot. Having said all that it got us right round the ring road without any problems.

My little van was fantastic. If you are two tall people, I'd recommend something bigger, but for a solo traveller it was perfect.
