I got a uppgrade to Toyota Yaris, automatic. which was a very nice car to drive.

Great Service! Only thing was the wheel pressure light was on when we picked up the car. We would choose northbound again for renting a car in Iceland.

Everything worked perfectly, from picking up the car to dropping it off. The staff was very friendly, and the car was in perfect condition. Highly recommended.

Fantastic company

Really appreciated the attention to detail by northbound. Cars were clean and in good condition. Shuttle Pickup was fast and easy. They were super quick to respond when i emailed with questions.

Very good price, car was pretty much brand new and super clean. Staff and shuttle drivers were pleasant and personable. Convenient shuttle to and from airport. If I could make suggestion, just have people book shuttle vs having frequency 1hr shuttle intervals, as it’s a quick drive to the airport.

I loved my experience with Icerental 4x4. The rules were very clear, and we had an excellent time in Iceland. My brother and I drove around the entire ring road with the 2024 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross. We had amazing fuel efficiency, comfort, acceleration, safety, etc. Pickup and dropoff were very easy, we got all of the extra equipment that we paid for, and everything was absolutely perfect!

Our conclusion: This 2018 Suzuki Jimney should not have been rented out. It is an older car making a lot of noise on the Islands roads. You do not really expect this when you rent a car for quite an amount. Comparing with the other travellers we felt we travelled in the poorest car. Technically our trip in Island was ok. But the handbrake was not working well, as well as the normal brake, the windshield wiper didn't give a clean window, there was no windscreen washer fluid in the system. The runningboard on the passenger site, just went of. Therefore I would not rent again a car through Icerental 4x4.

Car We liked to drive this van for it has space but is not too big, you can store a lot and you sit a bit higher so you have great sight into the street. The car technique functions very well, there is even a choice of rough-roa-automatic to be used: Sand, Mud, Snow, Wet...The car is strong and works for gravelroads aswell and they occurre in the roundtrip without expextation. We felt safe and well driving. We brought our own navigation so we where finde connecting it to the radiosystem and listen to our music while driving. Service: The service staff was very friendly. The office was not so easy to find, for we booked with Northbound but then turned out to be mycar customers. This was confusing and woul have been easyer to find if I knew to look for another name. We forgot something and the friendly stuff found it for us and delivered it to the airport with next shuttelservice. Thank you very much.!!!! One thing I would have liked to be advised about before was the tunnelfee. Unfortunately we didnt know which made unnessesarely more costs and hustle.

All in all things went well. Return went a lot smoother than pickup. Had to wait a long time to be driven to pickup location. Then had to wait again for access to vehicle. Lady made us feel that any scratch would be charged against us. So wasn't the best starting experience!

We had a great experience with the car and the rental process. Everything was easy and the car was perfect for our family of 4. It was spacious and it had all the amenities that we needed for the trip. It also does not consume too much gas which was great since we drove a lot through the south of Iceland.

The car was absolutely in good shape and we reached our planned destinations e. g. Kerlingarfjell or Landmannalaugar.

Lava rental services are brilliant, hassle free. The staff are very friendly and patient to answer all of our questions. It’s the best rental experience we had so far! Highly recommended

Very reliable, no issues encountered during the whole trip from pick up to drop off

The car was in good condition except the tires. They were almost at the end of their life at takeover time. Then one tire went flat. The support to get a new one even on a bank holiday was perfect and very easy to us. Later another tire lost permantly pressure. We told that the service lady at drop of. She did not seam to be interested in that information.

It was perfect. Ran well, accelerated fine, heater and defrost were perfect. There was enough room for 2 to sleep and it was organized well with table, chairs and camping equipment

The car was the perfect size for us and the service was good. Would rent from them again!
