Very good. I was apprehensive about all the horror stories on the internet about car rental from almost all vendors in Iceland. I experienced no such issues with Lagoon. There was no one in office when we picked up so the 15 minutes wait was very fair.
However, the car's cosmetic condition was worse than documented and it had 3/4 full fuel vs full on the documentation. Lagoon rep updated both (wish it was correct to begin with- esp the fuel). Also, as soon as we started driving, the car started showing various service/maint. messages. I send an email via the website and they responded reasonably quick assuring me that the car was drivable and didn't need service and it didn't for rest of the 9 days I had the car. However, it did cause me anxiety to reach another town with what I initially thought was a crippled car. Return process was rather too slow. There were two reps that were helping 1 customer each. One left as soon as she was done with her customer while 3-4 of us were still waiting in line. Then the other guy left as well. Before you knew it, two van loads of about 20 folks showed up to an empty counter. One guy reappeared and immediately got busy (not with the customers). Luckily the van driver, checked me out in under 30 seconds and took us back for our flight which makes me wonder if Lagoon needs to have a better process or staffing to handle the volume. Having said that, it was not a horror story, the car worked well for all the 10 days we drove it, there were no overages, trust and pleasantness were maintained at both checkout and return. So would I rent from them again, absolutely (unless they are way more expensive than others).
