The tour starts in REYKJAVÍK, at the SOLFAR STATUE at the street SKÚLAGATA in the centre. (The statue is the metal Viking ship by the ocean near Harpa).
We will start the tour in Reykjavík by driving to Höfði. This is possibly the most famous building in Iceland in international history, as it is the location of the 1986 Reykjavík Summit. After that we will drive to Álftanes to see Bessastaðir, the presidential residence, and then to Hlíð, also known as the Fishermans Village. Here, we will draw together at the beach where fishermen worked for more than 1000 years.
Then we will drive to Hafnarfjörður, the third largest town in Iceland, also known as the Lava Town. It has a beautiful port and a rich history for you to investigate.
After that, we will head outside of the Greater Reykjavík area to the Reykjanes Peninsula. There we will visit Krýsuvík, a geothermal area with boiling mud-geysers. There, we will learn how to use the camera. We will also take photographs at the Green Lake, a nearby explosion crater.
After that we will take you to the little fishing village Grindavík for coffee and lunch (not included in the price). Then we will drive to one of the most beautiful sites in Iceland: Reykjanesviti, one of the country’s oldest lighthouse, overlooking dramatic cliffs and waves which are home to Iceland’s majestic seabirds. Here, for example, you can see the beautiful bird the Gannet plunge into the ocean in search of food. Remember to pack your binoculars!
Next, it is time to drive to the Blue Lagoon. There, you can end the tour if you want to stay there for a while, or we can take you back to your hotel or the city center in Reykjavík. Let a professional artist take you into this unbelievable natural wonder to paint - and to color your mind too.
- Minimum age in the tour is 16 years. Materials for drawing and painting will be provided in the bus to use.
