Northern lights tour
A northern light hunt in the winter nights in Iceland.
On a winter night with clear sky and weather permitting, we head out to some beautiful locations in South- or West Iceland, to search for the Northern Lights. Unfortunately there is no guarantee of seeing the Northern Lights, even though we try our best.
Normally a tour is 4 hours from the time I pick you up, until you come back again. The greatest possibilities to see the Northern Lights are between 20:00 and 03:00 hours at night, and I plan in advance where the best conditions are, cloud coverage and some interesting landscape and foreground, such as Thingvellir national park.
I might have to change the plans if the weather conditions are not favorable, trying the day after instead.
- Pick-up and drop-off at your chosen accommodation, a ride in a comfortable 4x4 truck and photo guidance on location.
- You should bring warm clothes and wear good warm shoes or hiking boots, bring a flashlight or headlight, your camera with fully charged battery's, enough memory cards and a sturdy tripod.
How do we get there?
Pick ups are available from Hotels in Reykjavík.
