A full day tour exploring all the highlights of the Reykjanes Peninsula. We start with the 45 minute drive to Sandgerði town where we get a chance to stretch our legs a little bit and visit the Sandgerði Nature Centre (when open). Our next stop is at Hvalsneskirkja church where we’ll tell you a little bit about Hallgrímur Pétursson, one of Iceland’s most famous poets. Next up is the Bridge Between Continents where you will see where the Mid-Atlantic Ridge ‘tears’ the country apart at a rate of 2-3 inches per year. A footbridge has been erected over the rift and when on the middle of that bridge you can say you have one foot in Europe and the other one in America.
Next up is a visit to Gunnuhver geothermal area from where you can see one of Iceland’s most beautiful lighthouses, Reykjanesviti. After a short drive around the Grindavík Fishing Village we we stop at the local Bryggja (Pier Café) for a light lunch and a coffee to refuel before ATV adventure. You'll drive up and down a mountain, around Hópsnes peninsula with its random shipwreck, the beautiful coastlines and the charming Hópsnesviti Lighthouse.
After this excitement its time for your visit to the Blue Lagoon where you’ll be able to experience a couple of hours' relaxation in one of the most unique places on earth. Please let us know in advance if you would like to book a massage or other spa treatments while in the Lagoon. The way back to Reykjavik takes us through the magnificent Krísuvík area with stunning landscapes, the beautiul Kleifarvatn Lake and the famed Krísuvík geothermal area.
