Þórsmörk

Named after the Norse god of thunder, Thor.

A vast mountain ridge, situated in south Iceland. The valley is a popular destination for tourists and 4x4 vehicles. Þórsmörk is one of the most popular hiking areas in Iceland.
During the Eyjafjallajökull eruption most of the area was covered in a thick layer of ash. Nature has since returned to normal.
