Húsavík

A cozy little town in the north coast of Iceland, populated by a little over 2.000 people

Fishing is abundant in Húsavík and was, until recently, the main export for silica from the nearby lake Mývatn.
The name of the town means "Bay of houses"

The Húsavík harbour is teaming with life with very active fishing in the port and multiple companies providing whale watching and sea angling as a tourist attraction.

Fun Fact: Most of the members of the Icelandic seagull family can be spotted here - along with some occasional sights of rare seagull species.
