This campsite is located very close to Vopnafjörður city centre which means there is easy access to stores, restaurant and also a swimming pool. There is also a museum, liquor store and a coffee shop. It's also possible to rent horses in the area. There are many hiking trails in the area, including one to the waterfall Glúfursárfoss and also the famous elephant-shaped rock, Ljósastapa.
