"There were some issues, which I never experienced with car rental before and which significantly made the rental less pleasant. First pickup, I got the following instructions: We have an airport shuttle that departs from the arrivals side of the airport every 15 minutes. It stops outside of our office about 5min from the airport. I followed the instructions. Was following the signs Car Rental Shuttle Bus, came to the stop which was quite far away, waited for the bus. The driver of the bus told me, that this is not the right place for Geysir Car Rental but he did not know where should I go. The driver of the next bus told me that I should walk there, there is no bus going there. So I walked there (back to the airport and to the opposite direction). I arrived to the building with no staff. Tried to enter my reservation number to the screen several times in several modes, it was always not found. I ringed the bell, staff member came, tried to do the same as me, no success. Then he called and discovered, that I am not in the right place, that I should go to the AVIS place in the arrivals hall. I went back to the airport by foot, where I got the car. This misleading instructions about pickup resulting in several hours of my Holliday (and payed rental) being lost and me walking around long distances with several baggages. Next the vehicle conditions. First from the beginning the car was giving warning to top up addBlue. I had no idea how to do it, I have not many experiences with diesel cars. When the warning was critical, I had to drive to several gas stations until I was able to do it and pay for it myself. Of course, this should have been done by the company before giving me the car. Then few days later, alert came to immediately stop because engine can be damaged. I discovered that there is no cooling liquid at all. I called the road assistance service, they told me to put water and continue normally. But what I found when searching about it was that it is very strange when the liquid disappears, and can be a serious issue. I did not want to risk it when traveling through highlands, which I had to do that day. But had no other chance, as all services were already closed. I bought the cooling liquid at gas station and was able to finish the whole trip without further problems with the liquid. But it means that there was most probably lack of cooling liquid already when they gave me the car and no one checked it. And this again meant several hours of my trip spent trying to figure out what to do."

"Pas du bien !!!! Un pare-brise avec un gros impact qui aurait pu se fissurer sur les pistes. Au bout de 2 jours un défaut pression pneus. J'ai donc, à une station, remis les 4 pneus à 33 psi, mais pas moyen de réinitialiser la pression sur tableau bord, pas d'accès aux paramètres, donc défaut restant affiché. Ensuite un défaut révision est apparu.... Czytaj więcej Puis un défaut filtre à particules, que j'ai réussi à faire disparaître en roulant une vingtaine de minutes à 90 km/h à 3000 tours. Puis le défaut AdBlue limite. De la part de AVIS ce n'est pas correct de remettre un véhicule dans cet état, non seulement nous aurions pu à cause de ses défauts avoir une grosse panne ou au niveau sécurité mettre nos vies en danger. Nous en avons fait part au manager de l'agence AVIS à l'aéroport de Reykjavik. Il n'avait pas l'air perturbé par nos griefs et mécontentement et était buté dans ses propos. Il faut avouer que ça nous a gâché nos vacances en Islande en se demandant si nous n'allions pas perdre du temps à devoir se rendre dans un garage."

I was also told I was able to pay cash but they didn’t take cash. And the car I rented was not the car I received. It was a jeep renagade."

"We were given a small Toyota and the car was great. It was very busy at check-in,but we didn't have to wait too long. It would have been nice just to have been given a small map for exiting the airport, but only large maps were available for a fee. The car return was fast and efficient, it was not at a peak time. We had a car breakdown near Geysir Hot Spring Area and they didn't send a mechanic, asked us to find volunteers with cars/cables nearby. While talking they asked where we were from...As if this was related to the situation...After 4 hours, they finally sent the mechanic, after... Czytaj więcej several phone calls which most of them they did not pick up.It was really hard to reach them on phone & mail. They did not call us back - not even once to check on us. I mean, if we had been in the middle of a road and not near a touristic area, probably we were frozen waiting.I can't recommend Geysir Car Rental company to anyone having experienced such an incident."
