"We had an amazing trip! We would highly recommend renting your campervan here! They made the process easy! It’s a trip of a lifetime!"

"Hello Northbound Team, I hope you are well. I loved Islandia and enjoyed the motorhome. However, during the trip, as recommended by Motorhome.is, I took the vehicle to have the water pump repaired at the mechanic shop they indicated and paid for the repair. They told me the payment would be reimbursed. I sent them the payment receipt and am waiting for further information regarding the reimbursement. Aside from this incident, I really enjoyed the motorhome and the service and intend to highlight this as a positive aspect of my trip in the review after my reimbursement is processed. Sincerely,"

"Hi all, please can you check the car, I lost my (brown) money booster with a picture of the children and I think this one is in the top cabinet on the left above the table. If it is there, are you able to send this to me? Please give me your feedback. BR Roland Berg"

"Just perfect!"
"Summary of the events When we collected the vehicle on 5 August 2026, a warning message stating “Insufficient engine oil pressure” was displayed on the dashboard. We immediately reported this warning to your staff. We were told that it was not an actual problem and that we could continue our trip as normal. We would like to emphasise that this warning, which was present from the moment the vehicle was handed over to us and dismissed by your staff, suggests that a problem affecting the vehicle may already have been detectable before the breakdown that occurred four days later. On 9 August, at approximately 11:00 a.m., the motorhome broke down and became unusable. A first mechanic arrived at approximately 6:00 p.m., but he did not have a tow truck and was unable to repair the vehicle or make it roadworthy again. We were therefore forced to spend the night there, on the side of an isolated road with our three children, unable to continue our journey or reach suitable accommodation. This situation was particularly uncomfortable and concerning for our family. On 10 August, at approximately 2:00 p.m., a second recovery vehicle finally arrived and transported the motorhome to a campsite in Egilsstaðir. While waiting for a solution from Geysir Motorhome company, we were forced to remain there and cover the costs associated with this unexpected stay. On 11 August, as no effective replacement solution had yet been provided, we decided to rent a first car at our own expense so that we could at least continue part of our journey and minimise the further loss of our holiday. We subsequently returned this car because, based on our discussions with Geysir Motorhome, we believed that a replacement solution would be arranged shortly. On 12 August, despite our various exchanges with you, we still did not have a replacement motorhome that would allow us to resume our trip normally. We therefore remained stranded in Egilsstaðir and had to spend another night there. On 13 August, as we still did not have a solution allowing Geysir Motorhome to continue our planned itinerary, we rented a second car, once again at our own expense, in order to continue travelling towards Keflavík. We also had to book accommodation because we could no longer use the motorhome as originally planned. Only later was Geysir Motorhome finally able to offer us a replacement vehicle located in Akureyri. We therefore had to travel there using the rental car that we had already been forced to arrange and pay for ourselves. Losses and inconvenience suffered This breakdown and the lack of a sufficiently prompt replacement solution seriously disrupted our trip. In particular, we suffered: * 5 days of immobilisation during a 14-day rental period, meaning that we only had 9 days of effective use of a functioning vehicle; * a significant loss of holiday time; * a forced change to our planned itinerary; * the inability to complete several planned visits and activities, including Húsavík and a whale-watching excursion, as well as Grundarfjörður; * additional costs for campsite fees, rental vehicles and accommodation; * a night spent on the side of an isolated road with our three children in particularly difficult circumstances; * more generally, a significant loss of enjoyment of the rental, as we were unable to benefit fully from the service for which we had paid. We would also point out that providing a vehicle in proper working condition is one of the essential obligations under a rental agreement. For several days, we were clearly unable to receive the service corresponding to the amount we had paid."

"We have had a good experience, just the cable was too short"
"We were initially confused on whether to go for a motorhome that was over 6 years old especially since we planned to travel the whole island on a 10 day drive. We did not want any issues with the vehicle or the cabin in middle of our journey. We still went ahead with older vehicle due to budgetary reasons and the difference between a new vehicle and older vehicle was substantial. However the motorhome was in excellent condition, the cabin was perfect neat clean and functional. The experience was truly amazing and our choice in the end was rewarding. The rental company explained everything needed and they were always available on call or whatsapp throughout our journey."

"Staff was great , easy check in and drop off. My only dislike was I didn’t know exactly what camper layout I was getting until I picked up the camper. I asked several times to get the full size bed in the rear of camper instead of bunk beds and was told they had no way of knowing which one I would get. We did end up getting what we wanted but would have been better for me to prepare."

"Overall I liked it! I chose this motorhome because of the discount so I cannot complain too much. The only thing I had issue with was not working parking brake which is very important for a vehicle with a manual transmission. The layout of the motorhome was pretty good and was our comfortable home for 8 nights. I was pleasantly surprised by a very low fuel consumption - averaging only 8.2l/100km over 2250km which I think was pretty good considering the size of the vehicle. Fuel is extremely expensive on Iceland. In my opinion, renting a motorhome is one of the best ways to explore Iceland. It allowed us to have a flexible itinerary."

"As it is 2018 model, some features were broken(fridge didn't work with propane, broken cabinet) and a car problem along the way, which is normal for a car without proper maintenance and driving in Iceland. We had spent 3hrs at the car repair shop just to qualify for a replacement, wish it didn't happen but the service attention was great."

"We really enjoyed the Motorhome x-van. It was just what we needed to explore the island. Had a small hiccup with the units locking gas cap that caused us to have to drive back to office for the mechanic to open & oil so we could fuel. We were compensated for this issue by the staff. Which helped since it took 5 hours out of our day. Drop off went smoothly & staff was very attentive & helpful. Only complaint was pick up from airport, tried calling office when we arrived at airport & could not get anyone on the phone. Had someone from airport assist us in calling as well with no answer. Had the email voucher been more specific stating that Geysir would be the company to pick us up would have have been helpful. Ended up getting a taxi after an hour of trying to contact someone to pick us up."
