SAGA Car Rental en Islande

A couple of things we noted: 1. The rental agency did not have a ready reference to our booking, even though we had received emails from both Northbound & Saga Rental about our rental booking. So, it took a few minutes for them to "create" the booking. Not sure if the problem was with Saga or with Northbound. Do check. 2. While we got the comprehensive insurance package from Northbound, the rental agency got us to sign a form declaring that we are declining the additional insurance they provide. They also mentioned that in case of any damage, they would charge our credit card, but will provide the receipts/documents which we could then use to reclaim the money from Northbound. This was a little unexpected, and also feels like a cumbersome way of handling things. As most/all of your customers might be only visiting Iceland, and not residents there, any delays/paper work required to get the money back will take time and a lot of communication, which is not easy when sitting in a different country. Northboung & the car rental agencies need to make this process smoother.

It was an Ford Kuga

We had a great experience with our car rental! The staff were really friendly, and went above and beyond to answer our questions. We were kept very well up to date prior to picking up the car and felt confident in all explanations and procedures when we collected it. The payment system at the gas station was a little different from what we were used to, but we just asked a local. It might be helpful to clarify this when picking up the vehicle as like us someone might forget to ask. The shuttle from the airport made transitions easy and meant we didn’t have to worry about navigating this alone.

As it said in the announcement, the car wasn’t a Peugeot, it was a ford puma and it has a problem with a sensor for tire pressure, very noisy and distracting for the driver. The booking said for 6am but they open at the same hour so we can took the car at 6:30 am at least.

Everything worked out great

Love the car that was provided though it wasn't the Mazda the Ford that was provided served our 5 people trip very well. The staff was also very accommodating with our last minute change in plans and we are ever grateful.

We didn't get the car we requested. We received a Ford Kuga, a less technically speaking car. It was not 4x4, it was AWD, but it was overall ok and it needed desperately a wheel alignment, the car was going on the right, also I received not full tank, I had an autonomy of 880 km when I got and I thought it was full, but when I returned the autonomy was 1024 km, that means the car was not fully tanked. We didn't know Saga was Thrifty. I had not so good experiences with Thrifty in the past, but everything went fine. So, I can declare myself satisfied.

We actually got a Peugot. We liked the car. The only complaint is that since a foreign car to us it would have been helpful if staff could have demonstrated the functions of the car.
