The car was great to drive and comfortable. The problem we encountered was that the rental company didn’t include a spare tire or a way to fix a flat. They said there was a spray can to spray slime into the tire but it was nowhere in the vehicle. Towing is very expensive in Iceland from remote areas so this ended up being our only option. They also required us to buy not just one tire but 2 matching tires. The tow from a remote location plus the tires costs us over $1,500 USD from the rental company since this wasn’t included in our insurance. Even though some new cars don’t include a spare, simply including a spare tire and jack would have made this a $50 repair or $250 new tire. I will not rent another car, especially in Iceland, that doesn’t include a spare tire.
