Icerental 4x4 på Island

It felt like a really solid and reliable car. I choose this car because I drive the same one at home. I was happy with the 4x4, had to use it once, on a unforeseen bad road.

We have loved to travel with this car, especially with the rooftent. Easy camping. A rather comfortable tent. Unfortunately it was advised by ice rental 4x4 not to use the tent in the storms of our first week (1-8 june) and we needed to book hotels. Extra unforeseen costs. We advise you to explain that better in advance during booking.

The car itself was great and drove nicely. Pick up went well, but nobody was holding a sign of northbound so that was a bit confusing. However, we rented the car with roof tent and the tent wasn't of the best quality. There were little holes in the tent, which made it difficult to stay warm. There was no inner lining of the tent available, so we couldn't use that to make the tent warmer. Additionally, we rented sleeping bags with you guys, expecting they would be sufficient for Icelandic weather. Unfortunately, these were not very thick, so this didn't really prevented us from becoming cold. We ended up using some plastic sheet to create some sort of extra tent layer, a fleece blanket and a sleeping bag liner to remain warm during the night. So that was a bit unfortunate.

We had to change the vehicle after one day: an error message was displayed. We were informed that this error message is a known problem with Suzuki Vitara. We lost a day by exchanging it. The replacement vehicle, a Suzuki Vitara, displayed the same error message after two days. We did not exchange the vehicle again....we would loose anothernday. Both vehicles had around 300,000 km on the clock and were therefore not in a satisfactory condition, both visually and technically. Vehicles with these defects should not be offered for rent.

Easy pickup from airport Staff acted fast and we had our vehicle within a few minutes. The few existing dents on the car was written in the contract, so we had nothing to worry about. Car was clean and tank was filled. The car was smooth to drive Except sometimes the Lane assist failed and pulled os to the Middle of the road. It was better ro drive without it. The usb port didnt work to connect our phone to the media system, but they have no way of knowing this unless customers tell them. I mentioned this upon returning the vehicle and they took it seriously and would fix it for next costumer. Easy return of car and transportation to the airport again. Would definition book Again.

hello, we are disappointed, the roof tent was wet inside when it rained. it is not normal especially in this country and with the price paid!

Everything worked great, got picked up from the airport - 5min later we were at the car rental. We were earlier than expected so we received an upgrade since our car was not ready. No problems at all and very smooth process. The car we got was a plug in hybrid, and we charged it for free a couple of times when having lunch/dinner. There's allot of free chargers spread out over Iceland. Would recommend!

I loved Northbound the car company, IceRental 4x4, was so lovely and helpful. I had an easy ride through the ring road. I also used the sleeping bags from the company and found they were clean and great quality, kept me warm on the island!

The pick up experience was unpleasant. We waited for over an hour at the airport. We called IceRental several times with no answer. The first car they gave us, the USB outlet didn’t work to charge the phone. We had to get a new car. The USB worked to charge, but despite the car saying it had apple play, this didn’t work. Since there was no navigation system in the car, this made driving around difficult. Otherwise, the car was fine and the staff was nice.
