This campsite is located in the small town of Mosfellsbær, which is just outside of Reykjavík. It is around a 10-15 minute drive to the city and there are many historic sights in the town such as Álafoss, Tröllafoss, and Helgufoss as well as the river Varmá. There is even the popular hiking trail, Úlfarsfell located close by.
