"Hello, We really enjoyed the van. It was a great way to see the country more affordably than renting a car and hotels. The van worked well, we had no issues. We inadvertently made the reservation for 12:00pm and arrived at 9:00am at Cheap Campervans. We signed the paperwork and waited until about 12:30 to get on our way. There was very little com... Lestu meiramunication from the staff there when we asked what was taking so long. We were not told that the van would only be ready at noon since our reservation was for noon. This caused a lot of frustration. In addition, the service engine light and another warning light were on in the dash. This was not pointed out and when we noticed, we called and they told us to come back. We were not very far and once we returned we were told..."Oh, this is normal, everything will be fine". It would have been great if the staff could have pointed this out to us before we left. More open and transparent communication would have gone a long way to making our experience 5-star."

"Hey! The car was very good for me. I had no problems with it! It was a smoothly drive. The staff was friendly. Just at the arriving at the airport, there was no one for me to pick me up. I called and first, they didn't find my booking. I had a little bit of stress. But in the meanwhile, we had instant communication. And in the end, they found it an... "The cheap camper van was great. I enjoyed my time using it, drove smoothly and had all the essentials I needed to enjoy my time camping around Iceland. In the future I would probably like some type of small heater to keep me warm at night. It is limited to keep the engine running at night since the diesel engine is quite loud. Other than that... Lestu meira I would 100% recommend Northbound to my family members who want to see Iceland on a budget in a convenient camper."

"Wir waren im September 2024 in Island und hatten einen Dacia Dokker Camper, leider ohne Standheizung. Es war daher sehr kalt und wir würden ein anderes Auto beim nächsten Mal wählen. Das Auto an sich hatte alles was wir brauchten und der Service vor Ort war super. Es war ein Modell, welches schon einige Schäden hatte, was uns allerdings nicht gestö... Lestu meirart hat. Das einzige Manko waren die Dichtungen, die leider immer wieder rausgefallen sind. Wir würden jederzeit wieder über Northbound ein Auto mieten, da sowohl Buchung und Abgabe problemlos funktionierten. Im Jahr 2022 hatten wir bereits schon einmal hier gebucht, mussten aber aufgrund einer Corona-Erkrankung stonieren, was ohne weiteres nach Abstimmung mit northbound möglich war. "Great option for a solo traveller, everything worked fine with no issues. I would recommend the Dacia Dokker if you are travelling alone but probably something bigger if you are a couple or group. Pick up and drop off were simple and easy. The van had everything I needed. Northbound were great for vehicle comparison and I can’t fault them."

"It was ok but with one big problem: the chairs where all pulled in front to.make space for the bed and it was impossible for me to drive, since I have long legs. Luckly we had asked for a second driver and my friend could sit there but it was quite unpleseant not to be able to drive. Also we had to wait more than an hour at the Airport to be pic... "The 2019 Dacia Dokker from Cheap Campervans was a great deal and worked well. The one week rental cost less than two taxi trips in Iceland. Pickup from the airport is confusing as you have to find the representative among many others at the airport exit. It is best to phone the booking number once you arrive at the airport exit to confirm a pi... Lestu meirackup time. Also, Cheap Campervans rents camping gear, so get it all in one place to save time."

"I hired the unheated van in winter. I brought with me a hot water bottle which was priceless in an unheated van! I would recommend though insulating these unheated vans as in my case (cheap rentals), there was plenty of space between the car interior panels, to fill the ghaps with expandable foam OR, stuff it with some sort of insulation. Also, can... Lestu meira I suggest you provide window shades for the front windscreen and driver + passenger windows, for night time? This will also help keep it warmer. Apart from that I found the van easy to drive, economical and I really loved the wifi and inverter provided with the insurance package. I DO think the gravel insurance is a bit of a rip-off. One shouldn't be having to pay for this insurance especially in a country that has a lot of gravel roads and in some instances are the ONLY available roads! Gravel chip damage is inevitable with these kinds of roads - drivers should NOT be penalised for this!"
