The service was very good. I enjoyed the talk to the staff. Friendly, helpful and humorous. I did call one time because a lamp in the car strarted to light an did got help directly.
The car and the tent was exactly as described and I had a very good trip.

Our rental experience with Camping Cars was great! Their service was top notch. I did have to borrow someone's cell phone to call them for pick-up upon our arrival, as they did not reply to the e-mail i sent upon landing... but the staff was very kind and accommodating! We were concerned about the battery upon receiving the rental and they took the time to put a brand new one in before sending us off. The rooftop tent was very comfortable and convenient! Just be aware of any wind storms that may be coming thru... it gets too loud to sleep if the winds get heavy. Would rent from Camping Cars again!

Excellent communication

I had a great time in Iceland, driving around with my three children. The car was perfect for our needs, and with the roof tent we could all sleep in or on top of the car. The service from both Northbound and Camping Cars was excellent, and when going back to this beautiful country I will use your services again. With love, Christina

Fantastic service. Really pleased with the whole experience. Booking through Northbound was super easy and well priced, the car was brilliant and exactly as described. The car was functionally sound. Everything worked great.
The pickup was on time and very helpful and friendly explaining everything to us, giving safety tips and suggestions.
Would definitely use again and will recommend them to anyone.

Hired a 4x4 Duster from Camping Cars for 10 days in the middle of winter - wanted something that would be good for getting around the ring road no matter the ice and snow. Then realised maybe I shouldn't have hired a rooftop tent in the middle of winter...! Turned out very well though, the sleeping bags from Camping Cars were nice and warm, and the canvas on the roof tent happily keeps the weather out.

The car itself coped perfectly with the snow and ice, and I think the jeep-style is more fuel efficient than a camper-van shape. Spent most of the time listening to audiobooks on the stereo via bluetooth - had the wifi router from Camping Cars and don't think I ran into a signal deadzone along the ring road. Kitchen box is well enough equipped for basic cooking, but most campsites had an electric hob to use anyway.

Would definitely recommend Camping Cars.

Camping cars was brillant. the staff were waiting for us to pick up at the airport on the 25th at 23:45 ! we are very thanksfull for that. The car was fine. comfy, no issues with it

we are very content with our location. a person came to meet us dearly at the airport directly to take us to our 4x4. the car was very well equipped, wifi, duvets.

Camping cars were really friendly and picked us up and drove us back from/to the airport. We were really satisfied with the car, the tent and the sleeping bags.

My experience with Camping Cars was amazing. It allowed for my wife and I to stay warm during the days as well as have so much extra comfort at night with all the extras we were able to hire. We saw the ring road of Iceland and many other extra sights in a week due to the amazing vehicle we were able to hire.

Easy to find exactly what I was looking for. Great prices and made for a fantastic experience. Will certainly use again!

Couldn't have asked for a better experience with renting our vehicle. Camping Cars and Northbound were super accommodating and managed to help us with some last second changes to our rental.

The car is exactly what you need = reliable, clean, spacious

The car has a lot of miles on it but everything seemed as good as new= suspension, tires, a/c.

I traveled by myself for four days and drove about 966 miles around all of Iceland - including the west coast - through the rain, the mountains, the valleys and the gravel roads.

This car is the car your uncle would lend you = Safe, reliable, and well driven but not concerned about cosmetics flaws.

Although we had to wait one hour for our pick up it was a pleasure with Camping cars. everything was very simple and good. Thank you Camping cars.

We ended up switching to a manual Dacia Duster with a rooftop tent and absolutely loved it! Such a wonderful way to explore the country. Our two year old daughter loved it too!

camping cars was excellent. picked up at airport on time then drove short distance to pick up car which was very good condition for age. the roof tent was very good and easy to put up and down. we also got quite a few tips on route we were taking and a few pointers on places to go that I did not read about. The wifi was also a great help for navigating. I would certainly recommend them and would use again.

Camping Cars was fantastic and a great way to see Iceland. The service was friendly and the car was great - surprisingly comfortable sleeping on the top of the car. Would definitely recommend to anyone traveling through Iceland.

The car itself was not great. It's extremely basic and lacks simple features that I typically expect on even the cheapest cars like cruise control, air conditioning, automatic transmission, or even a simple center console to use as an armrest or to store phones, snacks, batteries etc.

That said, the car functioned perfectly well enough for getting around the country. It was reliable and stayed on the road, even through rivers and F roads. The service from Camping Cars itself was excellent, from pickup through explanations, communication etc. The service was always friendly and knowledgeable and helpful. Were I to do this again I might spring for a slightly more expensive car.

Very friendly people at the car rental. The Grand Vitara was no the newest, but probably still one of the best in its class for Icelandic roads. The tent was pretty comfortable. Highly recommended.

It was really great, easy to drive and extremely comfortable seats for the long drives. We also found the tent to be way more spacious and comfortable than I thought it would be to sleep in. Although we did get wet one night after heavy rain as it pelted against the lining of the tent.

We loved our Dacia Duster, the helpfulness of the staff and the camping package offered. We had a terrific 4 day visit and would love to return. The wifi was great as we were able to take pictures and share with friends and family on the go! The car was all 4x4 yet easy to drive like a normal car and had plenty of space and comfortable. I must admit my partner knew them from 30 years ago and was apprehensive but found it a great car now.

The car was perfect for our needs and the round-trip through Iceland!

My car was changed to Ford escape model, but we didn't have any problems anyway. The roof tent was really warm, so we could sleep very well.
Overall, our journey in Iceland was really good and beautiful. I think that rent a car was the best choice.
In addition, I want to highlight the service by the company when I asked you for more information few months ago. Liam was really kind and professional, helping us a lot with all our doubts.

It was amazing, experienced great amount of freedom, and the car even though it was a little bit more on the used side, it performed excellent. The biggest drawback for me was the lack of ability to interact with the sound system, bluetooth, aux-input, or otherwise, it would have made the trip that much more excellent. Great car to do the circle road and gravel roads. In the end, we didn't take the f roads but if you want, you can do this. The tent on top of the roof is easy to set up, just 1 minute and easy to take down, max 2 minutes. We went in June and during the day the weather was great but at night it cooled down to approximately 5 degrees. Good sleeping bags are therefore highly recommended :)

I'm glad that I chose to rent my camper from Northbound, they have great selection of campers (e.g., mixture of size, automatic vs. manual, etc.) and it was fairly easy and straightforward to rent from the company! I also love how great their customer service was. We arrived to the airport late due to flight delayed, but after we contacted the company somebody was able to get to the airport within 10 minutes and drove us to the rental company. I will not hesitate to rent from the same company the next time I'm in Iceland as well as recommend this company to all of my friends who are planning to travel to Iceland!

We did. a wonderful Journey around the island and enjoyed this good fourwheeler offering all possibilities needed to drive and stay. The roof tent was very comfortable even for two tall men. Northbound stuff was extremly kind, flexibel and had good informations for us, eben concerning really bad weather on our tour, so we could avoid this region. Thank you!

I am so happy my husband and I chose Camping Cars. They met us at the airport to bring us to our car. They were also very helpful with giving tips on where to shop and general tips about traveling in Iceland. We will definitely be using Camping Cars again.
