What is Northbound?

Northbound is an information center and marketplace for car rentals in Iceland. We currently hold contracts with over 30 local Icelandic car rental's. The team at Northbound work together to produce and develop an easy and cheap way to rent a car in Iceland.

Our endeavor is reaching a level of respect with our customers that leaves a lasting impression with quality service and traveler experience as our prime concern.

How does the program work?

Our program is simple and straight forward, you get a unique affiliate link that you share on your online platforms to advertise Northbound's service.

  1. When someone clicks on your link and makes a booking within 365 days, that transaction is linked to your affiliate account.
  2. When the rental period has finished and the customer has returned the car, you will receive a commission to your account.

How much is my commission?

All Affiliates with Northbound will receive a 20% commission that is derived from the commission we receive from rental suppliers.

How much on average can I earn on each booking?

Your earnings can vary by vehicle type and booking season.

Below are the average commission rates for the year 2022.

  • Economy $25
  • Camper $70

Can I monitor my performance and earnings as an affiliate?

Yes, our affiliate tracking allows you to access real-time clicks & bookings.

How can I maximize my affiliate performance?

How often are commission payments made?

Affiliates can request payouts when their commission has reached $100. When you have requested a payout, Northbound will then transfer the payout the following month.

What are the available payment methods?

We offer two convenient payment options: PayPal and Wire transfer.

We ask you to ensure that all payment information is provided and correct to make sure the transfers are seamless.

Does it cost anything to become an affiliate?

No, joining Northbound’s Affiliate program is completely free of charge.

Will I receive support from Northbound to help me succeed as an affiliate?

Yes, of course! We provide inside information in the affiliate dashboard. While having access to our very user-friendly platform, you will also have access to our customer support team that will assist you with anything that needs solving.

What is Northbound's responsibility?

We oversee your progress, handle payments, provide customer service as well as keeping you informed about any new trends or vital information with our newsletter.

We also keep an eye out for affiliates that are not following our terms and conditions. It is important to us that anyone affiliated with Northbound has a high standard in all regards.

I don't have an online presence, can I still apply?

Due to the landscape of the affiliate program, we consider it to be necessary for you to have some kind of online presence so we can review your application and make sure we are a match. This can be Instagram, Youtube, Website/blog or any other online platform.

Can I sign up more than one platform to the program?

Sure you can! And we encourage our affiliates to have multiple sites under one Affiliate Account.
