Bæjarins beztu pylsur translates to 'the best hot dog in town'. And I must say, they are correct. There's no false advertising here. In 2006 it was selected as the best hot dog stand in Europe! No easy feat!
Located downtown, close to the Harbour (Tryggvatagata 1, 101 Reykjavík). It has been open for business since 1937 and has had many famous visitors. With the most famous being Bill Clinton.
The hot dog condiments include ketchup, sweet mustard, fried onion, raw onion and remolaði, a mayonnaise-based sauce with sweet relish.
You can grab 2 hot dogs and a coke for around 1000ISK. Hot dogs are ordered by locals, by saying "eina með öllu' or 'one with all'.
