Star Car Rental in Iceland

The rental process was awesome from the pickup to drop-off. Flawless. Would rent from your company in a heartbeat. There were a couple issues along the way though. After encountering a near flat and driving to fill station with flat pavement, I went to put on the spare on the rear tire. The jack which I assume was not origional to the vehicle did not lift up the vehicle (when placed properly on the jack rib) enough to actually remove the tire. This could actually be dangerous to someone inexperienced with that style jack as over extending it can lead to collapse. I ended up just filling it with air. Crossing my fingers and driving 30 minutes to a tire repair to have the punctured tire patched knowing that if another flat were to occur on the rear, i could not change it with the provided equipment. Next the cook stove put out sufficient heat when it was nice out, but not enough in the cold mornings to cook bacon shielded from the wind with a lid. An upgraded stove would be a nice improvement. Lastly, an option could be given for a slightly shorter mattress arrangement so that it did not have to be disassembled to put the seat back far enough to drive. Due to the inability to cook consistently, general cold (i knew this going in), and fall availability of rooms, i did stay in hotels multiple nights. But did also sleep in the camper multiple nights as well. Due to the service and value, I would recommend star car, however would expect the jack situation to be evaluated and remedied. The front tires were also nearly warn out so was a little weary after the first flat.

Thank you for the invitation to write a review. I loved the camper van. It was easy to drive, comfortable in everyway and took me to all the sites I wanted to visit in Iceland. I would recommend your service - from meeting at the airport with a smile and reassurance (I was held up at baggage claim as the belt broke down) and patience after an extended wait - to showing me all the details of the van. I returned it full, and again the service to drop me at my Airport Hotel was gracious with a smile. These things leave good memories...I would be happy to recommend to friends and others. Infact I have family from the UK I who want to hire a can and tour Iceland so I will be telling them about you!

The car was clean and in a decent condition. Nevertheless, it had a slight decence to turn left and the front shield cleaner were a little bit „rusty“. It had no negative effect which could not been dealt with.

The Dacia Duster was a good car, only superficial damages. It had a lot of space, ideal if you have a lot of luggage. 4x4 is very recommendable in Iceland. There was only one issue: the car displayed sometimes the warning "check ESC", but the warning always disappeared after some time.

Our rental car was a 4 year old Dacia Duster. The car was very clean and in great condition. We used the car for 2 weeks and it was a reliable mode of transportation for both on and off road conditions.

The van was as described, and was equipped with everything needed for the trip (gas stove and cylinders, dishes, pots and pans, etc...). We rented sleeping bags and they were clean and very warm. Transfer on time and very fast (the rental is very close to the airport). Highly recommended!

super-friendly stuff from Star Car Rental, they personally picked us up at the airport immediately without any waiting, also the shuttle back was especially just for us. We booked the platinum package which made a broken tire during the last days because of street conditions super-uncomplicated, the stuff stayed friendly and supportive, no problems at the return. The car was very clean, we also got free and fresh blankets, pillows and gas-bottles, table, chairs and dishes were clean and included. The Webasto-Heating functioned perfectly and kept us warm without any huge loss of fuel / energy. The air-conditioning system was also perfect. We would recommend it 100 ./. and book again every time at Star Car Rental!

Was super easy to drive and very smooth experience with pick up and drop off were excellent! Really enjoyed the car and we had an amazing experience in Iceland!

We ended up driving a Nissan NV200. Worked very well, got one with a heater! Which was necessary in mid September as the temperature was quite cool

The Suzuki was a great car for our trip to Iceland! We were able to get around the island very easily, including driving some F-roads with ease. We loved the heated seats after being out in the cold wind and rain.

Das Auto war gut und für meine Zwecke soweit geeignet. Schlecht war, dass sich der Bereich hinten zum Schlafen nur mit viel Arbeit und zwei Wolldecken abdunkeln ließ. Beim Campingequipment wäre ein Brotmesser und ein Sieb gut gewesen. Die Mitarbeiter von Star Rental waren ok, aber nicht besonders freundlich

I had a great experience with star car rental. The vehicle was pleasant to drive and comfortable for sleeping. The description given on the web was accurate. I highly recommend this agency and I will rent again when I come back next year

The service was excellent: - Replies to emails prior to our arrival were quick and clear; - The staff monitored our flight and a person waited for us at the airport to take us to the office where we pick up the vehicle; - The signing of the contract was quick and the staff then explained to us in detail everything we needed to know about the vehicle; - On returning the van we were taken back to the airport by the staff. The van we rented matched the description (Dacia Dokker) and was in excellent condition, both inside and out. The vehicle had everything we needed and the spaces were organised perfectly. The only thing I would suggest adding is a scraper to remove ice (I didn't need one but I have the impression that in winter it might be useful).

Everything perfect, camper full equipped, price is worth it.

Great service and value! I highly recommend this company. We rented a 4WD vehicle for two weeks. Pick up and drop off at the airport, perfectly timed, quickly on the road with friendly service. Really appreciated valuable advice about parking tickets, full wind shield fuid, a large bottle of water, and a clean vehicle with good winter tires all made the start of our trip easy. Renting at off airport site locations as there are no line ups and the vehicle does not have to be found in a large parking lot. Cheaper, better service and faster onto the road. A wonderful start to a great trip! Thank you!

We rented the car for 10 days to drive the ring road in Iceland. It was very appreciated to get an email from the rental company about weather warnings for our area. The van had everything we needed, was very clean and everything worked well. We were very satisfied with our rental.

The process was smooth and easy, felt very relaxed, and the staff were awesome to deal with. The vehicle was clean and set up better than I expected, I have rented vehicles before in Iceland and this was the best experience I have had. It was set up for our travel so much better than other rentals. If I go to Iceland again, I will definitely rent through STAR again.
