Give pickup a little time

Pickup is where your road trip starts, so plan a relaxed half hour or so instead of rushing. The rental company checks your driving license and card, goes through the rental agreement with you and hands over the car. At Keflavik Airport, many rental companies meet you or take you by shuttle to their office nearby. When several flights land at once, it can take a bit longer, so grab a coffee and enjoy the moment. Before you drive off, walk once around the car and take photos or a short video of the body, windows, wheels and tires, and the fuel or charge level.
