Keilir

The symbol of the Reykjanes peninsula.

Perhaps, one of the most impressive sights you'll see as you drive the highway from the Keflavík Airport to Reykjavík. Keilir can be seen, about midway, on your right as you go from Keflavík.
The mountain is cone shaped and was formed during the Ice Age, and is a highly popular hiking trail for locals and tourists alike.
At the top you'll find a stone tablet and be rewarded with a breathtaking view over the entire Reykjanes peninsula.
