Þingvellir Camping Ground

The founding seat of the world's oldest extant parliament
Þingvellir is a national park in southwestern Iceland, famed for being the location of the founding of Alþingi, the world's oldest extant parliament, and the current parliament of Iceland. Þingvellir is rich in historical, cultural and geological attractions and one of the most visited tourist locations in Iceland.
Through the park lies a rift valley that marks the tectonic plates of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge.
