Vök Bath's

Activity

Nestled in the beautiful Urriðavatn area of East Iceland, Vök Baths offers a unique and rejuvenating experience for visitors. The name "Vök" comes from the Icelandic word for ice-free patches in otherwise frozen water, which were created by geothermal heat sources that were historically used to wash clothes in the winter. Today, Vök Baths uses the same geothermal energy from boreholes located just a few hundred meters away to provide a relaxing and environmentally-friendly experience. The floating platforms are constructed using mostly locally sourced sustainable wood, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that complements the stunning natural surroundings. One of the most remarkable things about Vök Baths is the quality of the water. Unlike many hot springs and baths, the water in these pools contains no chemicals and comes from the only geothermal hot water source that is suitable for drinking (although we don't recommend doing so!). This ensures that visitors can enjoy a truly natural and authentic experience, while also knowing that they are supporting a company that is dedicated to sustainability and preserving the environment. Whether you're looking for a romantic getaway or a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, Vök Baths is the perfect destination.
