Our experience with Lagoon and our Dacia Duster was quite good overall. We rented two of these cars and they were perfect for our trip, roomy, adequately powerful and economical. The rental experience was okay and the staff helpful. A bit of automation in the rental process would speed things up, though, as I found myself repeating info on the rental form that I had already provided when I made the reservation on the internet.

Hi !! I rent a gray Suzuki Jimny during July 19th until August 4th. My boyfriend and I liked Iceland et all has been good with the car and the tent....was great. But honestly, the guy who greeted us was really not friendly. He was impatient when we asked him questions, he explain us the price in US money when we asked him to convert all that into Canadian money ... in short ... we were really angry .. and it really started our journey badly. The guy ended up pressing us to sign and ordered us to remove our luggage from his vehicle. In short, I would not recommend anyone else to go and rent from you. Excellent
The service was excellent. They came to get us at the airport and at the end drove us to Reykjavik. The camper-van was what we expected, but needs some work on the brakes ( shaking). Oveall, a great experience and we would recommended the company to friends .

My experience renting from Lagoon was mixed, with service rating 5.0, vehicle quality 3.0, and support 4.0. Pickup at the airport was easy, and every person I dealt with was competent and enthusiastic. The quality issues seem to have more to do with Lagoon's business model. Instead of the Nissan 4WD I requested I was given a similar Renault Kadjar, a switch mentioned in several reviews so I wasn't surprised. The Renault is a good vehicle for both the Ring Road and minimal dirt road exploring we did. However, our particular vehicle had 81000 km on it at pickup, and was not in great shape. The car pulled annoyingly to the right, and had old tires - perhaps original - which were almost bald, something I didn't notice until i got a flat toward the end of our trip. Tire damage is a real risk on the sharp lava gravel found on many Iceland roads, and renting a vehicle with marginal rubber seems irresponsible. Which brings me to the matter of support. The six optional insurance add-ons Lagoon offers are not particularly clear to foreigners' unfamiliar with Iceland roads. What is the difference between "gravel coverage" and "sand and ash" coverage? Is tire coverage really necessary? (Answer: not in Reykjavik, elsewhere Yes.) The young woman who provisioned the car was pleasant but unhelpful in guiding my insurance decision. She recommended not driving on F roads, which seems silly since all of Lagoon's 4WD vehicles list "Approved for F roads" as a key feature. Moreover, when I did experience a slow leak resulting in a flat and called Lagoon for support, the company was minimally helpful. They offer no roadside assistance, and only reimburse towing costs if the relevant insurance was purchased. As it turned out, my AirBnB hosts the night of the flat helped me get the tire fixed. Relying on the kindness of strangers is not a good business model. I suspect Lagoon's fleet is old and somewhat worn to manage costs. Cost is certainly a factor in choosing a rental company, and I don't know whether another, more expensive provider would have given us a better car or better support. In the end, we had a wonderful trip with 1500 km of driving, and the car did its job. I would have liked a little more from Lagoon.

Thanks, the trip went well. The only thing that I did not like was the fact that having pure misfortune (a car must have launched a pebble on the windshield) I had to pay € 735 for the damage to the car. I am impressed by a bit too exaggerated. Greetings Alessandro

I enjoyed my travels in the motorhome. The big issue that I had was that it was not aligned and pulled to the drivers side. Some better maintenance on the vehicles would be a big improvement. Customer service was very good. Larry

Outstanding!
Very happy, didn't have any trouble finding our guy at the airport. Car was almost new, everything worked perfectly, we got everything we have paid for. They were also very nice, and let us stay for free in their camp last night (close to Keflavik airport). It was the best camp we've been at in Iceland. Thank you Northbound and Wild Campers.
