Nordic Car Rental Campers in Island

Everything was fine! The car was fine and the staff was very friendly and helpfull. I can recommend Nordic Campers.

We loved the camper van and had a fantastic time in Iceland. Pros - Iceland is awesome. The camper was awesome. You saved our swimsuits which we left in the car (thanks so much). Including all the cooking gear was key and super useful. The prices just can't be beaten. I know you're a new company, so wanted to give a few small ideas which would make it even more epic: 1. Get some better pictures for your camper: https://www.northbound.is/rental-car/550/2016-dacia-dokker?c=camper&o=low_price&l=keflavik_airport&dl=keflavik_airport. Plain white, windowless vans don't have the best reputation in the US, so taking some pictures from side which has the logo would be much better. My wife almost vetoed the van based on the pictures, but I persuaded her otherwise. Once we were there, we know we'd made the right decision. 2. Include a lighter in the cooking supplies. We had to ask to borrow other camper's to get the stove started 3. Add a matress cover or fitted sheet over the foam. The foam doesn't really clean very well...it'd be nicer if there was a cover to cover all the hairs and stuff. It'd also probably make cleaning easier for you. Hopefully that helps :D We had an amazing time and will recommend it to anyone else we know going to Iceland.

The experience was great! I had not problem with the camper, and everything went fairly smoothly. The only complaint I have is that they forgot to pick us up at the airport and it took us over an hour to get in contact with them and get picked up.

I had a very pleasant experience and other than a minor hiccup getting picked up at the airport (I don't think I gave a great contact number but no worries), we had a great time and experienced great customer service!

Everything with Nordic Campers was fluent. Pick up from airport was on time, same with drop off. The car was also running without any problems. The staff were kind, gave some traveling tips and advice.

I found the company really kind and with a nice equipment. they included some devices such as a hitter which was really useful in our trip. The vehicle was clean and in good conditions and the personal was kind and helpful all time. Personally it would be nice it some storing furniture could be added to the campervan, but despite that, the camper has good quality/price balance. Thanks a lot!

We loved our trip with your Daccia Dokker Campervan. There are some points though that we think you could easily improve: - We didn't get an introduction to our van. We had to find out how everything works ourselves. - The dishes included in the box in the van weren't clean. There was moldy tea bag in our tea pot. - The cutlery included in the box in the van is very fragile. Maybe invest in some better and stable cutlery. - The heating system didn't work well at the beginning. After contacting your emergency hotline (which was great, the person we talked to was really helpful and nice), we had to go and see a mechanic that had to blow through the pipes cause it was all congested. Maybe you could check the pipes everytime before rerenting the vans. - When contacting your Reykjavik office to ask how clean we have to return the van, the person on the phone just said "Well yes you have to clean it inside and outside". So we drove to washing mashine to get everything clean outside and to vaccuum clean the inside and also to dust off the inside. When arriving in REY the person who welcomed us said that wouldn't have been necessary, a rough cleaning would have been enough. It would have been great to get clear instructions about the cleaning. We hope you consider our points and improve them! We would probably choose your company again anyway cause we also like the inconspicuous style of the van (other than Kuku or Happycampers, they have really crazy cars).

The vehicle worked perfectly for one person. However, I doubt that the provided mattress would fit for 2 persons. There were some minor problems with Nordic Campers: the fuel tank was not - as indicated by the staff - 35% full when I picked up the car, but it was empty. I had to return to the rental station to have fuel added. The gas cooker was missing in the box of utensils (was added upon my request); there was no pillow provided as indicated when I made the reservation; and a water container was missing. All in all, the experience with Nordic Campers was so-so. However, Northbound Travel´s staff was perfect to work with. Kind regards, Guido Baumann

In general the experience was good. Only trouble was that we got the van after having to wait for the pick up from the airport and then to get the van at the rental spot. It took 2 hours but we were compensated by getting GPS, although needs to be updated because map from 2012, and took a couple of detours because of that. Alberti also gave us sand&ash protection to compensate our wait. The third night the heating system started smoking and had to disconnect the battery to make sure we don't burn alive and tried to call Alberti and the emergency number we were given, but no one answered after several tries and no one called us back.. So we slept what we could(none) in a freezing van the last night. Also the 2 first nights the heating wasn't working properly and got cold, then had to adjust the heat for hotter. Thermostat not working properly. We got 10% of our money back which could've been more. First in Keflavik the service was really nice and the car overall trustworthy. Just the problem with the heating and in the shop in Reykjavik the service was not so friendly and we didn't get the chance to check the car together with them Also the discount chip token didn't work at least at N1 when buying coffee etc. Didn't try that with gas because had a prepaid card for that. Iceland was amazing. Took the ring road and we will definitely come back to your beautiful island with friendly people! If only everything with the car rental would've been good, after all this was our honeymoon. Hopefully at Nordic Campers these problems will be solved, and we might consider renting from there the next time, but at the moment we feel getting the next rental from another company, still maybe through Northbound, because everything worked well with the booking and customer service from you guys.

The van rented was very godd, although a few extras were missing - matress cover, water container... but overall all good. super positive experience with northbound, which gave us super prompt assistance with our reservation changes
