Outstanding!

Renting from Lagoon was a great experience! After a lot of comparison shopping, it still took a bit of a leap of faith not using a larger company with familiar name recognition, but it was definitely worth it. The rates were the best, which is why I selected Lagoon, but I was surprised at how easy and seamless the entire process was. From the online booking, being greeted at the airport, and the checkout and return process were all perfect. Nobody tried to up-sell me on a million options, the car was in great shape, and performed amazing in the snow. The only hiccup was the contract said the car had a full tank of gas, but it was a while after I drove off that I realized it was only 1/4 full. I called and they trusted me and updated the contract no problem.

Perfect ! Everything was as planned : someone at the airport to drive us to our car, rapid delivery of the Renault Trafic and ok for the return. We were 7 adults wwith our luggages and were able to visit all spots.

Our “upgraded” 4x4 was very rough and sounded like it was going to fall apart anytime we hit any sort of bump or pothole which is a lot in Iceland). Tons of safety warnings going off and we were told that’s because they do their own maintenance and don’t reset them. Pickup was fantastic. After dropping off the car after a week the shuttle vans were absolutely disgusting, we sat on our bags to avoid sitting in the dirty seat. But eh, that’s life!

We choose to rent a Subaru Forester as we know it is one of the best cars for driving in various weather conditions, as we expected in Iceland. The 4WD car was a great base for us as we drove through the half of your country, in heavy wind and snow over the mountains, icy roads and roads of various conditions. We would definity choose this car again, it made us feel safe. We are used to drive in snow, as we live in the north of Norway, and know theese cars are the best in winter.
