I like the car, it went perfect the whole trip (18 days). I have nothing to complain about the car. My complain is on the customer service and their portable wifi. The problems I had are as follows: 1. The shuttle bus didnt come within 10 minutes as promised in the website. I tried to call the customer service but nobody picked up the phone. We have to take a taxi to their office and wasted 25 EUR because of this. Totally avoidable if they can be reached by phone 2. The explanation during the car handover is very basic, I have to learn all by myself. I subscribed to supercharger (upfront charging fee for 18 days), and they told me nothing about charging provider like On and Isorka, nor how to charge it (they only gave me the keys). Again, I have to google everything by myself later on. 3. Portable wifi's battery is very poor, 3 hours max. I ended up buying eSIM. 4. The customer service again didnt reply to my email and my call when I had questions about returning the car. Calling them few times on working hours but nobody picked up the phone. Luckily the process run smoothly

It was wonderful perfect for our needs. The only issue I was charged for a parking ticket, even though I had receipt that I had paid at Seljalandsfoss

Never again - the worst car rental company in Iceland in the last 23 years. Toyota Landcruiser already booked in February 2024 for October 2024. Shuttle service delayed. Very long waiting time in the office. Got the wrong car even though it was booked 8 months in advance. A Kia Sorento is definitely a downgrade and not comparable, the difference in wading depth alone is 25 cm. No discount offer for the downgrade either, instead a free cancellation was offered - a joke considering the vehicle we booked would probably have cost twice as much if it had even been available from another rental company that day. Only with great emphasis, two days later the car was converted to the booked class. The planned route therefore had to be changed at short notice. We also covered the additional costs for this ourselves. The exchanged car then had an unwanted roof box, which was not removed even when asked. The result: noticeably increased fuel costs and an annoying whistle throughout the entire trip. After a day or two we got an AddBlue warning and had to refill it ourselves. At least the costs were reimbursed. The car was returned with an above-average waiting time and an overcrowded shuttle service. Sorry, definitely not a recommendation!!!

Good gas mileage and it was ready for us when we got there. It’s small but we knew that going in. Next time we would rent a bigger one for just the two of us.

Drop off and pick up were fairly nightmare-ish with long lines and waits. The car wasn’t ready for us when we got there and when we dropped it off, there was one huge line for both pick up and drop off (pick up takes considerably longer) when there should have been a line for just drop offs since people have to get the the airport on time. The car itself and the experience besides that was great.

We did not get the Toyota Aygo as planned. Instead we were given an MG SUV. I was very disappointed because I had pick out the Toyota specifically because of its fuel efficiency and smaller size. Petrol cost was a lot more in the MG as well. The MG had a lot of "safely features" which we found distracting and not helpful at all. In fact the opposite! The car was constantly beeping at us and alerting us to inconsequential things.

First of all, there was no Nissan available and we got a so-called upgrade to a Kia Sportage. There was a star with a big crack in the windshield. The manager checked it out if it could be driven. Only after I told him that the window would definitely crack further due to the temperature differences, we got another Kia Sportage. On the way, we got a blowout for no apparent reason. I thought I was insured for this. But in the small print of the contract, that turned out not to be the case. Lava gave us a telephone number for a 24-hour service. They said that they first had to create a file. Costs 12,500 isk. Then we would have to pay 64,800 isk in towing costs and then buy a tire at a garage for 48,000 isk. These are absurd amounts and seem more like scamming tourists. I called a garage myself, which eventually replaced the tire on the spot. Costs 78,000 isk. This mechanic said that the tires were far too inflated. I have rented dozens of cars all over the world but I have never experienced this. You will understand that this was a very bad experience. Apart from the above, it turned out that summer tires were mounted and that in a country like Iceland in October. I hope that there can be a compensation for the costs incurred. I hope for your understanding.
