Lava Car Rental in Iceland

Great rental car for its price and options. Everything was really smooth from our arrival to Keflavík airport. The car was easy to use and had so much space that we used for our bags and stuff. Northbound has the best price on the web with the best ratings and I think it all worth!

Everything was perfectly organized. Shuttle service, very clean car (we got a Mitsubishi Eclipse) and very friendly staff. We had a little damage at the front window, with full protection no problem. Would recommend!

Booking through Northbound was seamless and provided a competitive price for car rentals for other companies than just the big names.

We received a Mitsubishi Eclipse hybrid. It was an excellent car for all roads and weather. Lava Car Rental was very good, easy shuttle ride to and from airport. Lava also provided driving tips and travel information for Iceland. We would book through Northbound and Lava again.

We ended up getting a Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross. The vehicle was wonderful. Fairly fuel efficient for an AWD and it did well in the snowy roads. The Lava Rental company was nice to work with and made communication easy.

Our Rental from Lava Cars through Northbound was easy from start to finish! Not only was our rental car upgraded for free upon arrival to a bigger and better car but the check in and out process was seamless. I would highly recommend renting your car via Northbound & Lava Cars when visiting Iceland! Not only that but Northbound had the most competitive prices! I cannot fault either of you! Thank you.

I hired a 2022 Toyota RAV4 automatic and it was brilliant, this SUV was ideal for the possible extreme weather that can be experienced in Iceland and when we did experience the extreme weather we felt safe and secure in it. Our first time in Iceland and I would 100% recommend hiring from LAVA car Rental, their cars and customer service are “rock” solid 👍

Everything fine with car and Shuttle Service. What should be improved? When we landed in Reykjavik Airport, nobody did know where Lava Car Shuttle Service leaves...We did also not find a clean sign for Lava car. ...the reason that it took a while to find the right Pick up Spot was that Lots of rental car Companys Pick up the passengers at a different place and we followed this stream of people...so somehow Lava car should more clearly say where the Pick up location is. Best regards ! Otter than that ...i would rent again a car from Lava Company.

We were given a new Mistsubishi Eclipse as an upgraded car since the Suzuji Vitara was not available anymore at Lava Car rental, quite good!

Well equipped car, with heated seats very useful for the cold climate of Iceland. Stable even in strong winds and very comfortable. We had a good time with Lava Car Rental, very kind and very helpful staff.

Je n'ai pas reçu le véhicule demandé. j'ai reçu un Kia Sorento à la place. Bien que la voiture reçue etait parfaite, cela n'était pas ma demande. Mais le voucher parlait d'un Land Cruiser ou véhicule similaire. Je suis persuadé d'avoir payé trop cher. Le prix pour un Land Cruiser était correct pas pour un Kia sorento

Overall very good experience. Good advice and instructions made it easy ahead of car pick up. Friendly services and excellent communication. Easy hand over and return. Good quality car. Very useful tips for the traveler on webpage and via email.

I was looking forward to driving the land cruiser that I'd booked, when we picked up the car we were given a Kia Sorento and told they didn't have any landcruisers, so very disappointed. We were told the car had a full tank of fuel and had to return it full, when we drove off in the car we discovered infact it only had 3/4 of a tank but was still expected to return it full. Nobody took us round the car to ensure there wasn't any damage before we drove off, or to explain the features on the car. The Kia was a nice car, just not the quality of car we had paid for. Customer service was lacking, more just sign here and get you out as quickly as possible.

I really enjoyed my experience with lava car rental. We received a free upgrade to a new and bigger model of the suv and it was perfect for our week long trip around Iceland! Super clean and easy to drive on the challenging roads in winter

Everything was smooth and car was great. We had to modify the reservation before our trip and lava was prompt about fixing it. Car was in great condition, comfortable, and drove well. We drove it through pretty much every weather condition

Everything went smoothly with our rental. We paid for the full insurance package for this trip. Unfortunately a stone chipped and cracked the windscreen but this was all covered by the insurance with no complications whatsoever. I would definitely recommend Northbound and Lava car rentals.

Instead of a Hyundai Tucson we received a Toyota RAV4. Though it’s the ‘or similar’ option, afterwards we experienced it as far less comfortable. We specifically chose the Hyundai because we own one in the Netherlands. The advantage would be that we are familiar with the car, making it easier to concentrate on the driving.

Northbound provided a GREAT experience. We booked with LAVA car rental and when we arrived were upgraded to a Mitsubishi SUV. Communication was perfect.

The information about where to get a lift from at the airport could be simpler and some of the info was out of date, it mentioned walking past a bank in the airport that is no longer there. It would be easier if they just said outside of exit number ** adjacent to P3 parking or included a map. I'm afraid I can't give many marks for customer service as the guy who picked us up didn't give us any form of greeting whatsoever, did not help us with our bags and seemed to be in a bad mood and didn't speak to us once in the whole journey. It wasn't a great welcome. It was slightly better in the offices but only a bit. On the plus side the car was very nice, clean and good value.
