Lava Car Rental in Iceland

We have drove 2800 km in a week and Suzuki did the joob . Car was good no the asfalt so on of road .

We have already booked everything online. So we were picked up at the airport and taken directly to the car rental. It is about 5 minutes away from the airport. Once we arrived, we had to wait a bit because a few other guests were picking up the car at the same time. But that was absolutely no problem and it was already after 8 pm. In the end, however, we received a Mitsubishi 4x4. The vehicle is in the same category as the booked vehicle and was perfect in any case. The vehicle was handed over in top condition and had just under 30,000 km. In general, I had the impression that the car rental companies tend to have very new vehicles. The drop-off 14 days later was also absolutely no problem. The vehicle was briefly inspected from the outside and it was checked whether we had filled up the tank and that was it. We would even have been brought back to the airport, but we wanted to go to a small village nearby. Great service! Would definitely recommend this car rental.

It was (and is)a very good car. I was really happy to drive, it was the best rental car, I had ever driven ( sorry my English is not very well, on the other hand not so bad as possible)

It served our purposes with the trip, and was equipped with everything we needed. Only hickups we experienced was when we needed to change the gas container to the stove and there were no instructions in English, and that we didn't find ice for the cooler box the first day (as was recommended at pick up: the electric cooler did not work sufficiently). I would also personally had preferred a thicker mattress. It was ok for the 3 nights we rented it, but would have been difficult to endure for a longer period of time. Communication about shuttle for pick up was a bit confusing as well, as we did not arrive by plane that day.

The pickup was very bad, all other providers were waiting for their customers, we only had to call twice before someone finally came. I gave the time and the flight number so that everything works smoothly. the tires were worn but were then renewed

Hey there , I rented the car last minute before arrival and when I arrived at the rental agency I thought the car was too small and Aaron anti the agency upgraded me to much larger Toyota can was amazing and comfortable and super efficient we went to some travel destinations and parked in front of the rental place with no issue and we were extremely happy with the car and agency. Highly recommend Lava Car rental

The car was great, and the service was excetional.

I am wary of rental aggregators because I’ve been burned by sites like Expedia- but northbound is different. They were super communicative and paired us with an awesome rental company, Lava. I’m honestly shocked at how easy and friendly the whole rental experience was. THANK YOU! The last thing you want when you are traveling is to deal with a headache at the rental place, so I’m super happy we didn’t have that experience.

We don't recommend Lava Car rental. It was very upsetting to return the car and have to make a large deposit for repair to a door ding..... wondering if they were holding us accountable for prior body damage. We declined the damage insurance since it is offered by my credit card. However, we did not take photographs of the car before taking it; Lava did not review the exterior with us either. On return they saw a door ding in rear driver's door. Their pictures of the car 'were not detailed enough' to verify if the ding was already there when we took the car. We had no photos to prove it. So we had to pay a very large deposit for the repair, pending their appraisal. As well, it was frustrating trying to find the Lava shuttle from the airport since it was on the opposite side from all other rental cars. While some staff were very helpful, overall Lava seemed unprofessional.

Quite new car, no major problems during our adventure. Large boot, fitted 4x 70-80L suitcases, but required some clever packing. Car came with a broken windscreen wiper, took multiple shops to find a replacement, but we were reimbursed for it when we returned the car. Definitely satisfied.

Our car rental was excellent! The only downfall was that we had to return it 4 instead of 1 and they charged us for an extra day. Other than that we very pleased!

It was very easy to rent the car from Lava Car Rental. The airport pickup was prompt and we were on our way with our rental in a matter of minutes. Dropoff was similarly easy.

Fantastic experience. Quick and easy rental online, a shuttle that picks you up from and drops you off at the airport, with almost no waiting around. Check in for car pickup took only a few mins, drop off took only a few mins. Car was sparkling clean and looked brand new. Charges were exactly as advertised, no hidden fees or hassling to up sell you on extra insurance. Customer service was excellent. And best of all, price was much better than any of the other major/international car rental companies. This is exactly how business should be run, and exactly what a car rental experience should be. My only complaint is that I can't rent from this company when visiting other international countries.
