Konvin Car Rental in Island

Nice clean car. Everything went so well from pickup to delivery. The people were very nice. So thank you for making our vacation smooth.

The car itself was great, completely new with 1400km when we got it. Sadly, hybrid 4x4 is was not a good choice for driving in the highlands. The fuel capacity was way too low at around 30liters, there were times we were scared to not have enough fuel to return, despite leaving with almost completely full tank. I would suggest including an empty jerrycan with the car, and advicing people to use it when driving into the highlands. We also rented the kitchen supply box, which wasnt great, but did the job ok. I would have liked a kettle included to boil water, we had to use the pot. There was glass and metal rattling around in the same box the whole time, im surprised nothing shattered. The inside of rooftop tent was not cleaned after previous users, there was dust and sand on the mattress, i suspect the pillow cases were not changed either. Cleaning it while it rained outside wasnt fun. Apart from that, everything else was good, i would have no problems renting from you again.

The car came from Konvin. The rental process was super easy. The shuttle driver to and from the airport was very friendly and helpful, and the shuttle itself was clean, comfortable, and had plenty of room for luggage. The car I rented only had 7,000 km on it - it was clean and in very good shape. The pickup. And dropoff location was at a hotel with easy access and good facilities. One word of caution: take good photos of the car before you leave. They tried to charge me for a couple of very tiny paint chips on the front of the car, the kind you cannot avoid given the tiny rocks on the roads in Iceland. They also tried to charge me for another small paint chip I couldn’t actually find that was already listed on the paper I received when I rented the car. Luckily, I had taken good photos before leaving with the car. It felt to me like part of their revenue strategy is to collect fees for tiny things like that, but not actually fix the paint - and maybe even keep charging every new customer for the same small things over and over again. I’m very thankful I had good photos to show them those tiny chips were already there when I got the car.

1. The agent of Konvin Car Rental did not show up at the arrival hall of KEF airport by the time we arrived, though we had provided our flight number. We called them, and they came 30 mins later to pick us up. 2. The first camper van they provided us (YHE93) has a problem with the heading system in the sleeping area. There was no electricity going to the heater even as we connected it to the charger. We reported this to the manager, and the manager nicely changed another car (UTS82) for us the next day. 3. However, the new car (UTS82) was too new and did not have a handle from the inside to open its sleeping area. We were trapped in the sleeping area for a night. We yelled to our neighbour and our neighbour opened the door for us from the outside. The experience was ridiculously horrible, but the manager was nice and cooperative and promised a full refund for our trip.

I got an upgrade to a 4x4 Jeep Compass, it was an hybrid new car, couldn't expect more.

Jeep Renegade did excellent job during our 9 days trip around Iceland. We drove around 3000km on different, sometimes difficult roads - without any issues. Car and roof tent were very comfy and withstood harsh weather conditions. I recommend buying extended insurance as many roads (not necessarily F-roads) are gravel roads.

We had an excellent experience with Konvin Car Rental. Very helpful staff, quick reply on the phone and they upgraded us to a nicer car. Also they helped us select the right children seats for our kids, even though we booked the wrong ones.
