Northern Lights Car Rental in Island

This was the perfect car for our trip. It got us everywhere we needed to go with no issues at all, even through some precarious roads. Having a slightly older car was also ideal for our trip, as we didn’t need to worry nearly as much about any minor dings that may happen on gravel roads. Will definitely rent through Northbound again for our next Iceland adventure!

First it was chaotic but later after a few misscalls I got a good employe, that helps me with my questions.

All well that ends well but I am not fully happy how whole car rental went. Finding person when arriving Keflavik was easy, that was nice. While renting car itself was not smooth. Polish guy was talking with difficult accent and way too fast. Hard to understand what he means. So i was forced to take insurance i did not want. Pressure moment when other customers waiting behind.. Car itself was nice and clean but all kind of warning lights were blinking at screen. Service overdue and tire pressure failure. Even pressure was okay with tires. When returning car i got accused to been driving in a sand storm and damaging paint on drivers side. I was able to proof with pics i took before starting to drive how paint was and with weather data that it was raining when i was driving. No sandstorm even possible on my route. On the way back to airport our driver was speeding up to 120 km/h and taking over other cars even though No one of us customers was in hurry. Unnecassary and saved us maybe 25 seconds..

The Suzuki jimmy was a great way to see Iceland. I was able to drive and have peace of mind having an older car that can handle different weather conditions and roads. I was happy to have the option to drive a manual, and have the pop-up tent on the roof that was very comfortable. The sleeping -bag I rented was warm enough for Iceland weather and I slept extremely well. The staff are friendly and very helpful.

This was a perfect car for us. Tons of space, easy to handle and great on gas. It was an older vehicle but in good shape.

Every thing worked smoothly form pick at the airport to returning the car. The car was fine, and economical. We were able to see more places because of the car. We had originally planned to use transit, but this was much better. My only disappointment is that you won’t rent for one day on our return to Iceland. We have a long layover of 22 hrs and would have liked to rent to get to the hotel we arranged.

The car is great, it did well on dirt roads. The rental company quickly prepared the car and picked up. I bought a platinum insurance package and didn't worry about anything. I will probably rent again from this place in the future. Employees in Northern Lights also speak Polish.

All staff were amazing and very helpful, only thing is when being collected from the airport the driver was constantly on her phone. Suzuki Jimny with a roof tent was great. Tent itself was very clean and comfortable.

В целом, машина мне понравилась. Не смотря, на внушительный пробег (245 тысяч километров) мотор работал хорошо и особенно хорошо работала коробка передач. Потребление бензина- минимальное. Меня это очень порадовало, с учетом цен на бензин в Исландии. Единственное, водительская дверь прилегала не очень плотно и было много шума. Иногда, с нее дул ветер. Не сильно, но моя голова это чувствовала. Повторюсь. Машина прекрасная. Я проехал 1000 км за три дня
