Northern Lights Car Rental in Island

Everything was great. The car was older and well-worn (as expected) but I liked that I was able to choose that model to save some money. It also meant I was less worried about chips/scratches in a brand new vehicle. The service counter was well stocked and when we arrived, we quickly had our rental and were on our way.

Perfect communication and car

The Jimny was reliable, good maintained. The rooftent was ok. We knew we‘ll rent a 7 year old car. So: we will recommend it to friends.

An old version of the suzuki jimni which showed its age. Car rattled a lot and not the smoothest of cars, didn't even try am F road. I have previously owned a suzuki jimny and think I should have been warned it starts in 4 wheel drive not 2 wheel as this was not normal for this car. Despite all the comments above, it was a sturdy little car. Tent, surprisingly good, easy to put up and down.

Easy, straightforward process to hire, personally I think it was a little expensive for the car compared to other rental companies but it wasn't rediculous.

Thank you for your request. We had a great time in Iceland and got around a lot. Unfortunately, the car let us down on the first evening. On the way to the highlands to take advantage of the good weather, we had a disruption that made it impossible for us to continue the journey. Even if we contacted the number given to us directly, it took a few hours before we were given clear instructions. That meant for us that we had to spend the first night in a cold car in the middle of nowhere. The hotel, which was of course booked in advance, remained unused. We had no opportunity to eat or drink anything as we only had the bare essentials for the route with us. At 6am, as promised, one nee car was delivered to us and the other was towed away. We could finally continue our journey and enjoy the highlands. However, we had a new problem the next evening. We noticed that there was a cable/hose hanging under our new car. This seemed unusual to us and since we didn't want to take any risks, we had to go to a workshop to have it examined by a professional. He said that this was the brake line and that it absolutely had to be reattached. Since we first had the problem with the other car, we had it repaired and paid the €68 out of our own pocket. For the rest of our trip, however, we had no more problems and were able to enjoy Iceland. Kilometers of the first car was roundabout 300.000

Service was fast and hassle free Car was just as described. Was slightly in doubt on where to go for the shuttle bus. Perhaps a sign (wait here) if the airport allows? But not a big problem. All in all good experience:)

It was a great car to explore the island. It was the perfect mix to drive on the ring road and at the same time to go on the easier F-roads. The car was quite "old" and you could see and feel the +300'000 km it already did. At a first glance the car didn't seen reliable and after 20mins of driving we had an error message on our dashboard. So we turned around only to hear that this is normal for Dacia Dusters... When picking up the car the agent tried to sell us another insurance (even though we were already fully covered) and he wanted to charge us for the extra driver. Luckly we knew what we already paid and had our documents ready. In the end the car did us a great service.
