"Booked a 2023 Dacia Duster camper through Northbound. The vehicle was as described and the self-service key-box system worked without problems. Two things I’d want to know before booking again. In practice you buy Flybus tickets yourself (ISK 15,996 for two people, both ways) and travel roughly 45 minutes each way to the BSÍ terminal in Reykjavík. The company has confirmed in writing that it will reimburse this, which I appreciate, though as of writing the money has not yet arrived and I am still waiting. It is in any case neither free nor a shuttle, and after a late-night arrival it adds a real transfer at both ends of the trip. On price: the mandatory Icelandic road tax is not included in the total shown at booking, so the figure you compare against other suppliers is incomplete. It appears only on the voucher issued after payment — where it was estimated at approximately ISK 12,555. I was then charged €123.30, roughly ISK 17,536, about 40% more than that estimate and well above the flat daily rate several other Icelandic companies apply. The odometer was left blank on my rental agreement at both pickup and return, so there was no basis on which to check it. Their reply to my query restated the total without addressing the gap against their own estimate. Perfectly usable vehicle and responsive email support, but the advertised price and the advertised location both need reading twice."

"compact but sufficient. biggest downside: no way to open sliding door or the back door from within the cabin, the bunks block the access to the latch. complicates getting in and out considerably. regardless, for what it is, it’s a great package, drives well, good fuel efficiency, driver aids like sign recognition, cruise control and lane assist are... Lire la suite truly useful on long distances when most of the time you’re looking at other things besides the road. the heating also turned out to be a necessity this time of year. anything less than this fiat would be burdensome. a step up to a van might be even better in terms of ergonomics, but having to juggle equipment so much. but this is the value packed starting option that i’d recommend to most as a starting point at least."

"Terrible experience. The car we received was heavily damaged already on pickup. The air conditioning didn't work at all in the car. All four tires were bald with barely any tread, there were scratches and dents on the car already. While driving we had the front tires pop while driving down a mountain, somehow we were lucky enough to be in front of... Lire la suite a tire shop where we had to pay upfront to replace the front two tires and were told the back should be replaced as well. We were able to get a refund for the replacement but lost a day of travel because of the delay in the schedule we planned. When dropping off the vehicle we had to pay $1700 Canadian because the windshield damage that was already on the car wasn't reported in the system. So we had to pay upfront again in order to be able to get on the shuttle in time for our flight. I am currently working on taking legal action for being given a poorly maintained car and having to cover the costs of repairs, safety doesn't seem to be a priority. Extremely inconvenient, would not recommend."
