"A little pissed off. I picked the car up and it had red light in fuel on. So I had to put a full tank off fuel in and then another full tank in to hand the car back. So I lost of out 8,000isk in fuel."

"Not the best experience. Picked up the truck and had a bad knock as we took off in the right rear tire. Took the vehicle back instantly. They drove the vehicle and came back told us it would need to be fixed after we returned it (really we are here now). So we took it, they would not switch it out. Made it 4 hrs away in the highlands and it progres... Lestu meirasively got worse. Called them. They said they would switch it out and meet us at the campsite at 8:00 stayed till 9 no one. We called they said go in would meet in the trail. Meet us around 4pm that day. Switched the truck out after having to stay in one area Al day killing the whole day. It is expensive coming to Iceland and we had stops that day not made. When they arrived the truck was just at a half a tank, when ours was full. Had to leave the highlands to get fuel. That night in the new truck it rained and our camper top poured water in soaking the foam on the bed. We contacted them again and they told us we could get a discount. Slept in a wet bed for 3 days. No help for us at all. We did not receive any discount or fuel reimbursement. (Told we would). The place we rented thru was Ice pole/ car rental Iceland beside the old air force base in Keflavík. I do not recommend renting from that hub. $2000 American for 4 days and was really bad of a night sleeping in a wet bed."

"Overall, the car was good and left us satisfied during our beautiful trip around Iceland. My only concern is regarding damage to the car’s windshield that was already present when we received the vehicle. Since customers either pay insurance that covers this type of damage or, if they have not purchased the relevant insurance, are required to pay... Lestu meira for the damage themselves, I believe it is unacceptable for the rental company to provide the car to the next customer without repairing it. Considering that the rental company has already received payment from the previous customer for the damage, the windshield should be repaired before the vehicle is rented out again. During our trip, I noticed that the existing crack on the windshield had extended further, which could potentially have created a more serious safety issue. Apart from this issue, we were very satisfied with the car and our overall rental experience."

"Overall, the experience was okay, but there are several things that could definitely be improved. When we arrived, the service was a bit slow. In our case, our flight had been rebooked and we lost one day of the rental. I had already completed the corresponding procedure and had no issue paying for the lost rental day. However, when we arrived,... Lestu meira we were told about the daily road tax and they initially also wanted to charge us the tax for the day when we did not even have the car. I had to point this out twice before it was corrected. After that, they could not find our car, so we lost some additional time. When the car was finally handed over, we received absolutely no briefing or information about the vehicle, Icelandic road rules, tolls, or anything else. There was also no proper walk-around or check of the car with us. When we got into the car, it had an unpleasant smell, almost like humidity, and it did not feel like it had been properly cleaned. I had booked a petrol model, but we were given a plug-in hybrid instead, with the battery basically empty. The estimated range was around 400 km, which is quite limited when travelling around Iceland, especially if you are planning longer days on the road. The biggest issue came when we returned the car. We were charged a 50,000 ISK service fee because we had crossed a bridge where a payment was required. We genuinely did not know about this. Of course, drivers are responsible for paying tolls, but this is exactly the kind of important information that should be mentioned during the vehicle handover. Since we received zero briefing, we had no idea. Overall, the rental itself was fine and the car worked well, but the customer experience could be much better. A proper handover, a clean vehicle, clearer information about tolls and local driving requirements, and better organization at pick-up would have prevented most of these issues."

"I booked through the company ALFA and paid via the northbound.is website, but upon arrival, the actual rental provider was Enterprise. Despite having purchased full premium coverage, at check-in I was made to agree to and pay for additional roadside assistance coverage. I didn't think this was fair; to me, it amounted to a tied sale."
