Car Rentals in Iceland

Nice car, nice service, very simple procedures. Will repeat.

I rent 2022 Subaru XV Automatic from Icerental 4x4 for a week. The car was pretty reliable even on so icy road and drove well for 2000+ km.

The vehicle was fine, although it had almost 200,000 km accrued. It met our needs, and it handles some rough winter conditions well. The staff at Icerental 4x4 were not friendly, did not take time to explain policies, did not understand the Northbound 3rd party booking or acknowledge the 3rd party insurance even when shown the policy. Northbound was outstanding, but this rental company is shady. I had to insist on a repair of broken feature at pickup. Otherwise, the vehicle operated optimally.

The car was great! perfect vehicle for us for our experience in Iceland. Considering we were in Iceland over Dec 24-26th, the communication was great. I would highly recommend both Northbound and Icerental 4x4.

Good morning. I want to say my opinion to help other tourists in future. When we pick up the van, it was a little dirty. Some lights didn't work as well. When we pick up the van I asked for "chains" for the tires (in Italy we use in winter). The answer was that in Iceland people use winter tires. So, it's not quite correct. We see all around Iceland cars, vans and also trucks and busses with "studded tires" or tires with nails. A company of rental without this, I think, want only that the costumer does damage to earn. Nothing else. You know that in winter in Iceland don't clean roads and there is much ice. For me, this isn't care of costumer, it's only take his money and don't think abous his safety. Iceland is a good place, but the idea that you have of the tourist, for me, it's wrong.

Super easy going, informed me of pretty much everything i needed to know. The Suzuki Jimmy was perfect for my trip and reasonably priced. If I was ever in Iceland again, I would be renting from northbound no doubt. Thank you!
