Nordic Car Rental Campers in Island

in general when we pick up the van everything was good, what i dont like its the way how we give us the details about the truck, no body explain how works the truck in relation with the gas, water, doors or all what the van had. I do by my self the check of the details of the van if had any crash or something like that. When i drive really feels insecure because had a lot of problems with the gearbox, when i brake the wheel have a strong vibration and feels strange

We chose Nordic Campers purely because they were the cheapest we could find, and I suppose you get what you pay for. It was not a bad camper van, it did the job, just don't expect anything fancy. It was an older and a bit beat-up Renault Trafic van. The equipment it came with was rather Spartan and a few more curtains and blinds would have been nice. Having said that, we didn't have any mechanical problems with it and it got us everywhere we wanted to get to, and in fact we had a brilliant holiday! I would recommend Nordic Campers for people wanting to do Iceland on a budget.

Our camper was great - no problems at all and it took us around Ring Road in mid-March. We had great service and Northbound was super accommodating and helpful with anything we called about - which wasn't much, because everything was great.

I was very happy with the experience, the only thing that I would say is it would be an idea when possible to show how the night heater works etc. Our heater didn't work, and Our water stopped working as well. Staff were very good and service overall was good and I would book again if and when I come back

The experience was good. We had four wanderfull days around the south-east of Iceland. The van was ok but some things didn't work as the behind Door.

General experience was good but not excellent. Staff was very friendly and helpful both at Keflavik and Reykjavik office and rental price was fair but we had some small problems with the van: the sink faucet was loose and water came out, the radio did not work well, the handbrake was loose and most importantly, the back door of the van was not well insulated and the cold went inside, we had to cover the cracks with clothes and towels at night. These problems would not have been important separately, but together they prevented the experience from being excellent. The positive part is that the car did not give any mechanical problem, the extra camping gas was appreciated and the heating worked all night except one night that due to bad insulation and -12º outside we could not sleep warm. Our 10-day trip was in middle March.

The guy from Poland ( can't remember his name ) who came pick us up at the airport was really nice and friendly ! Great service and great experience with the van ! Only thing I would have like to be told is not to put the handbrake on cold night.. I live in Canada and we have much colder night in the winter ( up to -40 ) and we never have any problems putting the handbrake on so of course I thought it would be fine in Iceland to put it! woke up to a bad surprise haha ! maybe its just the way brakes are made in Europe.. Anyway, we met another couple of Canadian and they experienced the same problem so it would be a nice thing to say to your future customers! Other than that everything was perfect ! Thank you, Simon

It was pretty good for driving, but not for sleeping. Advertising it as a vehicle in which 3 people could sleep was very, very optimistic. The first nights we tried to do it and one of us had to sleep in a corner with half of the body outside the mattress. Also, we were promised that the heating system would last for about 8 hours, and in the best of the cases it was lasting 5. In the middle of the trip, after a short stop, the engine was suddenly not starting again. There was no way to reach the emergency line of Nordic Campers, they were only answering the phone when we called the airport pick up service. They left us completely unattended, saying the breakdown was our responsibility (afterwards even the mechanic said it wasn't) and that we had to pay for the transfer to the closest mechanic, which was hours away. In the end we could drive ourselves to the mechanic thanks to some locals that towed our car and made it possible to start the engine again. Even if we weren't planning on driving such a big distance after having driven for a whole day, we had to because we knew once we stopped the car it wouldn't start again, and we needed to be somewhere close to a mechanic and to some basic services, specially after knowing they wouldn't send us a replacement car because we were "too far". In the end we lost half of the afternoon plus the whole next morning because of this, which meant we would need to hurry and be actually under quite a lot of stress for the rest of our journey in order to complete it as we had planned. For all the trouble (lost time, stress, money we had to spend in accommodation due to the heating system working just for half of the night), they refunded us with some hilarious 35€

Perdimos mucho tiempo en nordic camper. Mala comunicación entre ellos y ustedes. No aparecía el alquiler. Al final se solucionó enseñando yo la reserva. Por lo demás todo perfecto
