Lava Car Rental í Íslandi

The car rental overall was a great value and experience. My only concern was the shuttle service. The shuttle was a small van and required several trips before the driver was able to fit us in, so they could use more drivers or a larger van. Also, for an American accustomed to a more central and universal airport rental experience (one shuttle to a car rental area or a single on site car rental area), the pick up point was somewhat confusing. The Iceland airport has a Rental Car Shuttle which Lava does not use. While I applaud Lava for trying to make this a painless experience at the airport (email and video instructions), they could make note that there are three potential airport exits to catch the van, which are not clearly marked at the airport. It would be useful to also note not to follow the "Rental Car Shuttle" area or signage in the airport, as Lava does not use this service. I would suggest updating instructions to note that the pickup point is outside the doors directly in front of the Iceland Air Checkin area.

Although we havent received the car we booked (Suzuki S-Cross instead of Suziki Vitara) the car was comfortable and the sercive smooth.

It was a perfect car, booked via Northbound with Lava Cars. Perfect service from both Northbound and Lava Cars. I would book this again this way next time!

Pick up was a disaster. Wait 37 minutes, had to call , never receive apology for the delay, with 2 little kids of 1 and 3 years old + the fact that they knew our flight number , it’s just unacceptable. The Car rental part was normal service. I choose an Icelandic company on purpose instead of big rental company like sixt etc… That pick up made me regret…

It was a really great experience, everything went very well and was explained clearly.Also our questions were answered in a short time and it’s a good thing. So thank you for making this trip go well. Mieleur
