We could have used a more detailed description of the car on Northbound's web site. After booking, I did find a description on Rent.is's web site, on the basis of which we might have chosen a greater standard of vehicle- but by the time we noticed that the Caddy wouldn't be entirely comfortable for two parents and a child, alternatives were no longer available. The Caddy was OK- I slept in the front passenger seat whilst my wife and son slept in the back- although its quirks included (1) a cracked windscreen which we worried might shatter, (2) a tendency to stall at idle, (3) a heater in the back that couldn't be adjusted down to a comfortable temperature and in fact partially melted a camera placed hear it during the night, and (4) an anachronistic satnav which didn't even show the street on which the Rent.is office is located. In the event, though, for the two nights that we had it, just driving the Golden Circle, the Caddy worked well enough for us.

We didn't get the car we had booked. Instead of car Fiat Doblo Maxi, we had Renault Express, smaller car. Be careful to inspect everything because things were missing ! Staff is ok, kind, airport shuttle.

We enjoyed traveling in the Volkswagen camper van from Rent.is. as it provided a comfortable mobile base and allowed us flexibility in touring the West Fjord area. Setting up the camper in the evening and breaking it down in the morning was easy and quick. It handled gravel roads very well.

The vehicle was in a good shape but when I was driving I discovered bad breaking system ("long" pedal and no high greaking power). Moreover, when we opened for a night in camping we discovered very dirty (pillows full oh long hair) and dead bugs and insects. finally during night rayining, rain cam into the van and the matrasses became wet. (I got pictures if you want the evidences). finally not the value for 2400€ i was expecting, honestly speaking.

Great camper with lots of useful features. We really enjoyed it and it was just the right size. Not too large that we could use it in the city but large enough for two adults and two kids. As with everything in Iceland the cost of the rental is quite high but we got a lot out of the camper. Pillows could have been better but the heating system worked great for those cold rainy nights.

I loved the experience driving that vehicle.

The Lux 600 crosscamp was excellent! Slept 4 of us very comfortably, good fuel economy and the mechanical parts (pop-up sleeper, stove, etc.) were straightforward. Made camping in iceland very easy. If I could make a suggestion, the pick up instructions at the airport in the email, could be clearer. Rent.Is and Northbound logos were not visible at arrivals and we missed the shuttle when we arrived. As a result, we had to ask around, took the rental car shuttle bus, only to have to return and wait for the private shuttle. Once we figured it out, everything worked out well.

The van was good. The heater had issues and we didn’t trust running it as it was producing smoke intermittently. The van needs an alignment-it pulls to the right, and the wiper blades need to be replaced-they get caught up on each other. We were able to fix them in the side of the road in the middle of a rain storm. On the advice of your representative when I picked up the van, I took a video of all the damage. Coming in on a flight where I hadn’t slept, realized later some of the damage hadn’t been noted on the form. The employee on return tried to blame it on me. The video saved us an ugly argument. I appreciated the suggestion of taking the video. We appreciate the availability of a rental camper and try to be very respectful of the property. The fridge didn’t work at all but Martin met us at Selfoss and that was above and beyond! Thank you. Having rented a van in Iceland before, this one was just as nice and when the heater wasn’t smoking it worked great. Employees are a tad grumpy at the office. Martin was super pleasant and awesome!! Felt like an annoying tourist with the other employees…they didn’t seem happy to be there. That’s a bummer.

Hi We loved our camper van!! It was so clean and spacious for the the first night perfect! However the second night the overnight heating stopped working. We tried multiple cords and outlets and for three nights we were in the cold. We had specifically spent a lot more than we planned on to have overnight heating and we were pretty disappointed. I reached out on the website but did not get a response till a couple days later. We were able to get it working after 3 nights but I’m hoping to get a refund for the the three nights where our expectations were not met for the van. Please let me know how we can go about that. Thanks again! We really did love the van and can’t wait to leave a 5 star review once this is resolved.
