The car itself was very good and perfectly suited for the Ring Road. However, the requirement to use a credit card (and not a debit card) in order to avoid paying extra insurance is unreasonable. My card was not accepted, even though I always use it as a credit card in Europe, and the price increased dramatically as a result. This unexpected cost was not included in my budget and it disrupted my entire trip. Bad experience...

Overall very happy my rental. Unfortunately, had to wait a very long time to pick-up the car.

It was perfect. the car, the service. we are very setisfied. just waiting for them to release the 2500 euro they kept.

Hello, the car was fine. Driving was good. Only the car was a little wet in the beginning but it dried after some days. The service might be slightly friendlier. We were not so happy with the insurance. That this one we booked online upfront was not so good evaluated from Icerental and they "adviced" to also sign their own. So in the end we had the feeling we pay twice. Because should we be smarter than the company who is renting us the car? Additionally the pick up from airport was different to this what we expected. They only picked up the driver but we were travelling with three children (five in total). So also not so easy with handling of baggage and drive pack to airport. After the one week with Dacia (and a house) we also rented now a camper at Happy Campers. There we have better experiences. Nice regrads, Jan

The Northbound service was phenomenal! Every time I had a question I got a reply within 24 hours. Thank you for that! Our experience with Icerental unfortunately wasn’t as good. We had to wait at the airport for at least half an hour for the shuttle. The employees all seemed to be bored and/or annoyed and it took another hour to finally get our car. They didn’t even show us how to open and close the roof tent, we had to figure that out ourselves. The ventilator was also very noisy the whole night. The tires were very run-down, after lots of sliding on gravel roads I decided to avoid them entirely, so we missed out on a few destinations. But it didn’t feel safe at all and it wasn’t even an F-road yet. Also the steering wheel was wobbling A LOT every time we started driving for a few kilometers. Finally our car broke down after a week and we had to get a mechanic to look at it. He put a new battery in the key (it hadn‘t worked up until that point) and jumpstarted us and after that it worked, but we couldn’t even charge our phones to navigate or the Wifi device we had booked, because the battery seemed to be weak. At least we had full insurance, so we didn’t get charged for the repair costs and I hope we won’t be in future. The car was a constant worry in the back of our minds throughout the entire trip. We would definitely choose to rent via Northbound next time, but never again with Icerental!

We did not receive an Opel. W received Fiat with garbage under the seats. Within one hour we had to find an air pump because the tires were under inflated. We went back to Icerental and were told that the warning lights happen all the time on the Fiats. We drove for 6 days with the warnings about tire pressure. We were told that it was safe to drive with the warning lights on. Also the check air bag warning and terrible beeping happened on and off the whole time. The car itself was easy to drive. Would have liked to have less distractions on the dashboard. .

The car was in a really used condition but did its job.

They could not provide us a Jeep but instead a Mitsubishi Cross. The vehicle met our needs so there was no issue. The vehicle was not ready when we arrived so we had to a bit but was not much of a problem. The staff was friendly and helpful and the rental went smoothly. Would recommend to others and will return to rent with Northbound in the future.

Hello, The 4x4 was very good in terms of interior comfort and engine performance. However, the rooftop tent let in rain — there were leaks throughout the tent. Also, the vehicle is quite limited on certain tracks, even though they are listed as accessible in the vehicle description. Apart from that, all the other equipment was great.
