It wasn't a Subaru, but a Suzuki S-Cross instead. The car had different scratches and a chip on the front glass, but it behaved okay. Comparing with other rental SUVs on the way, it seemed "old". I can't compare with the Subaru because I never had it before. There was an issue when picking up the car: the company wanted to charge a deposit on the credit card, I had to show the conditions and the booking papers to avoid it. I didn't need to make use of the insurance, but its not clear whether in case of damage I should pay and be refunded, or the insurance would pay the rental company directly. Next time I wish a better integration between Icerental4x4 and Rentalcover.

Felt a bit rushed when picking up and dropping off the car which is understandable as you want to keep the flow of people moving but still. The driver seatbelt wasn’t safe, it was frayed and so the buckle wouldn’t allow for it to move to be tightened, the sidelights were extremely poor (kept getting flashed by locals when they were on). The rear windscreen wiper didn’t even touch the window, not that there was any washer fluid in the car so we couldn’t even clean our windows if we needed to. And the handbrake barely worked and the brakes were quite poor. The steering had way too much play on it and would constantly wobble about to the point that your hands would turn so red from having to grip the steering wheel. While we appreciate you may focus on the newer cars being up to scratch, renting a car that’s in this condition for that price is not acceptable in our eyes.

Voiture très bien tente de toit fonctionelle. Seul problème c'est une voiture hybride donc peu d'autonomie environ 320 km, donc nécessité de faire le plein très souvent.

Excellent Experience with Northbound and Icerental 4x4 We had a great experience renting through Northbound and Icerental 4x4. Both pickup and drop-off were quick and hassle-free, making the whole process smooth from start to finish. The car was clean and well-maintained, and the rooftop tent was a fantastic addition. It came with a mattress, sheet, and pillows—super comfortable! We just used our own sleeping bags as blankets, and it worked perfectly. It was our first time using a rooftop tent, and we absolutely loved it. Highly recommend giving it a try!

Great service, love the airport pick-up thing (searching for the right place to pick up a rental car after a flight is in other countries often quite a hassle). What could be improved is adding a clean sheet for the rooftent. The existing one was not particularly dirty, and we used sleeping bags anyway, but due to the rooftent being closed the matras does get a bit unfresh in smell. A fresh sheet to cover that would help in a nice experience! The fresh pillows and pillowcovers were a nice bonus, we didn’t know they were included ;) Regarding price you were the best I could find.

he car was very pleasant, handled well and even though it had 160,000 km on it, everything was fine and trouble-free.
