Nordic Car Rental in Iceland

The first car had a window problem and Nordic car rental traded it out the second day with a new Suzuki and we had no problems after that. I returned the car a week early and got a refund with no problem. I was very happy with Nordic Car Rental.

We used Northbound to rent through Nordic Car Rental. We had no issues whatsoever with our rental. We were sure to be thorough when filling in the damage report before accepting the rental (remember to check tires and windshield wipers!). Very happy with our experience. Everyone in the office was pleasant to work with. Thanks for making this part of our trip painless!

Carolina was good for its age , but the pssenger windows didn’t work every time and the passenger door wass fixed , and the screw get out , there was no limit to open the door But in general , was a good attention by the staff

Good car, handy weather updates emailed to us, very little explanation from the person who booked us in. The other couple that were with us seemed to have much more explained to them.

It was great, a bit more compact than what we were expecting for a 4x4 SUV but it worked great.

Very good, check in was a little chaotic with lots of people but it was ok. The car was old but was clean and ran well, no issues. The check out lady was very nice and the airport shuttle drivers were also very nice. Very good experience, will rent from you again.

First time in my life I had such a terrible experience with car rent. After airport pickup some weird things started. We were driven to unknown company to take a Land Cruiser from them. Unfortunately or maybe not, the only option was to take uncleaned car, but with different conditions (not the same we had in our confirmation from Nordic Car Rental). The price was bigger about 300 Eur and other things I didn't check. We rejected their generous offer and went to Nordic Car rental office to look for the truth. In the office they had another generous offer for us: "we can return your deposit, because we don't have a Land Cruiser that you booked". Long story short: after some negotiations, we took Dacia Duster for couple of days, until they have Land Cruiser. It ruined our plan , but luckily after two days, we got our car and it was the newer model. All in all, beauty of Iceland compensates everything!

Our experience was ok with this rental company. Communications with the company prior to arrival were good. They were clear about what we needed to do, fast to respond and it was easy to adjust our booking by email. We did not have a great experience getting our car at the beginning of the trip. Pick up took a long time and was quite hectic as there were a lot of customers waiting on the shuttle bus from the airport. We arrived and picked up our baggage just before 9am and did not actually leave the rental place until close to noon, which was quite frustrating. We would have appreciated more communication, politeness and organization while trying to pick up our car. The car itself was pretty good and we did not run into any issues while using it during our 12 day rental. We dropped off the car very early in the morning (around 3:30am). It was a fast drop off and we got a quick ride to the airport with lots of time to spare before our flight.

Overall experience was good but the car seemed poorly maintained (squeaking windshield wipers, squeaky belt, occ grinding noise from the rear end)

They were very friendly and quick to get us our car (we got a Suzuki 4x4 instead) but it was comfortable and gave us no problems for the duration of our trip!

There was some mixup at the office, the Vitara was given to somebody else. However, Nordic Car Rentals made up for it by an equally (or better) replacement with a Toyota Rav4. Staff did the best they could to make the process fast as expected from a busy morning with lots of renters. Return and Shuttle back to the airport was a breeze.

We had a great rental experience with Nordic Car Rental. Car was the one we booked. Check in was smooth and despite it being very busy, we didn't feel rushed as we got our bearings after an overnight flight to Iceland. Car was in good working order. I had made a slight error in our rental return time when I made the booking, and so used the online form to email the required changes. Heard right back and had the time corrected with no issue!

I strongly don't recommend Nordic car rental. The car was really in a bad shape with a lot of broken thing and strongly vibrating under braking. The car was unsafe, tires were almost bald, and we had to clean the air filter by our self. Also, employees were not professionals. We didn't get the car we booked but a model less practical. We're just lucky enough to didn't have any real issue because I don't think is the kind of company that you can have a fair resolution. Bottom line: isn’t a scam but we are not far from it.

It was smooth. Received the exact car i requested. Somewhat lengthy to document all the prior damage to car given it was older vehicle. Info about connectivity i should have asked about or might be made available as i had wrong cable from home to connect device to usb.

Initially, Nordic wanted to give us a very dirty Suzuki S-Cross instead of the Outlander we booked, which is not even close to the same category 4x4. After we then complained and waited an hour, we got a newer Toyota Rav-4, which was OK. We picked Northbound as a site, because the sites I usually use did not allow the F-Road and SAAP insurance comparison.

Good price, best coverage (lowest self risk in CDW, SAP, THEFT, free gravel), employee is nice and helpful. Key improvement would be at first time car checking should be accompanied, driving advise of what to do or not to do, and addition to explanation of the car condition.

For a new car it wasnt in the best shape, but for that price i couldnt ask for a better one! It did its job quite well!

I had a great experience with Nordic Car Rental - we were picked up at the airport and shuttled to their office to pick up our car. The car we had rented had not been returned yet and the office was able to quickly get us a new car that met our requirements. There were no issues with the car on our trip and we were able to easily return our car at Reykjavík.

Nordic car rental was great. We only booked the car one month ahead and this was by far the cheapest option we could find by then. The car, a 4W Dacia Duster, worked well. Also both pickup in Reykjavik and drop off at the Keflavík airport location was smooth. The Keflavík office is abou 10 min from the airport, and they drive you there. Would definitely book a car here again!

We had a great experience with Nordic car rentals. The car was clean, safe, well maintained and allowed us to take amazing roads and see amazing sights. Price was the best we found. Pick up at airport was smooth. We called on arrival and were picked up 15 minutes later. A good company that I would recommend to anyone visiting Iceland.
