Booking on Internet was pretty easy! They picked us up at the airport and we didnt had to wait, was perfect also! Arriving at the rental place, we paid what we had to pay and singt the contract. After that, Runar showed us the car, we walked around and wrote down the ''defects'' like scratches and bumps. Once we had a little problem. We could call the company and they helped us immediately. Was very good also! The only thing i have to criticize, or who you could change, is that you could have write us a mail, or sms about the returning. We arrived an the company place, the doors where open, but noone was there. After some minutes i found a letter on the window, that we can just leave the Car in a parkingarea at the airport. Maybe they did not know befor, that at this time noone would be there, can happen. Thats the only ''negative'' comment i have to make, but maybe it will help you to change it in the future. Everything else was excelent!! Thank you very much!

Great service! Very polite and helpful. They came to pick us up at the airport and when we returned the car they brought us back to the airport. No complains.

I was very satisfied with my Car Rental experience with Icerental 4 x 4. The booking process was very simple, they collected me from the Airport as arranged and the car was ready when I arrived at the offices a few minutes drive from Keflavik. I rented a Suzuki Vitara which was in good condition and I never had any problems with it during the 4 days of driving. I would have liked a USB port, but I guess other vehicles do have them and I should have made sure before booking. I intend to return to Iceland in the summer of '17 and will have no hesitation in booking again from Icerental 4x4. The service was excellent from the staff who were very helpful and in my experience, I would definitely recommend them to other travellers. Thank you and I look forward to seeing you in the summer. Excellent experience, great customer service! We had a nice time driving around Iceland and had no issues with the car. The rental office in Reykjavik was easy to find.

Hey. It was OK, BUT you have to control the car - here i think about the cleaner of the front and back window (i do not know the right word, but i think you know. I was the driver, and i could not see much through the window. It can be dangerous - special when it is dark and raining. That was all. Have a good Christmas.

All in the all, the car worked out really well, but there were some hiccups at the beginning. We went to pick up the car at 8 am so there was only one worker on site. We were greeted, cruised through the process, given the keys, and then he left. We went to get the car and it would not turn on. It didn't even turn over when the key was turned. We then stood around for about 30 minutes before the representative returned to the office. He then let us take the car that he had been driving. And let us return the car with a half tank as opposed to a full tank to apologize for the inconvenience. He also failed to explain the dropping off process which led to some fairly high stress as the office had closed early and we had no idea what to do with the keys. The car, however, ran fine and worked well for our two day excursion.

The operator was nice but it took us a long time to find him, because he didn't have a board with my name on it. Also, I was surprised to be picked-up by IceRental, I thought the service was Northbound. Not what I was expecting. Other than that, the car was great. Also, I paid for a pick-up and drop-off, but on the night of the drop-off they said they were closed so I had to drop-off the car in the parking myself. I paid for a service that I didn't get, and might I add that it was pretty expensive. They didn't offer to reimburse me for that.

Great, easy rental experience. Booked very last minute but arrived at airport to meet nice staff member who took us to the offices 5 minutes away. Straightforward, no nonsense contract setup and off we went after quick extreme weather brief. Would definitely recommend and use again.

Hello everyone, We have spent our holidays in Iceland for nine days at the beginning of November 2016. We rented a Hyundai Tucson for eight of those days. The car was from 2008 and worked very well. We made a round-trip of about 2400 km. We could drive any road in Iceland without any problems. Before the rental we could take pictures all around the car so that any scratch or whatever was documented. We got papers/ copies of the car conditions. When we brought the car back, they didn't even check the car. I think the reason for that is that the car was from 2008 and already had some scratches etc. We could call when we had trouble with the car. One day the car didn't want to start. There must me light switched on during the night. We called but solved the problem by ourselves. We contacted neighbours to help us. They did. Everywhere you go, you can contact the icelandic people. But we have been there in the off-season. If you go there when it is busy, it might be different. Another advice: Do check the functions like windscreen wipers as well as scratches all around and on the roof of the car. Overall the rental went as well as our whole iceland-trip. I highly recommend Icerental 4x4. They have the best prices and it works very well. Before our rental we read some comments and recommendations here. It helped. These guys were great, very accommodating to my changing plans. The price i got for a 4x4 was the best I could find. And they guys were fun to talk to on the way to and from the airport

There was a bit of a miscommunication when we arrived but it was fixed promptly - we had changed the date of pick up a couple months prior to our travels, and apparently Icerental 4x4 hadn't been notified of this. However, after waiting a while for our car to be dropped off we called Northbound to check on the status and they quickly remedied the situation. Other than this small hiccup, we couldn't have been happier. Northbound's customer service was great - I had communicated with them via email a few times prior to traveling and they always got back to me within the hour. The people I spoke with were very pleasant. Overall, we were pleased with the Jimny (especially the price, which was MUCH cheaper than other rental companies!). I would definitely go through Northbound again.

We had a very early morning arrival. Traveling tired is never fun and often stressful. The experience with both Northbound (super simple booking and great communication) and Icerental4x4 (on time and super efficient getting us on the road without delay) was awesome. Thanks to both of you for making renting a car for a long trip, just great !!

The Jeep is very comfy and perfect size for us. Equipped with everything we need. Two tiny things we don't like are that it produces a lot of smoke and that sometimes the heater on the back has weird smell.

Nice rental. Very good contact with Icerental 4X4. Not the most recent Suzuki Gran Vitara but it was still pretty good. We couldn't make real high mountains roads but it helped several times during harsh weather conditions, on other minor roads with some holes and several times also when we used F-roads, even if it was not for long distances... Company chosen because it seemed really reliable.

Quite positive. Good prices, good vehicle, helpful people (I showed up early and they were still able to work with me) .

Had a great holiday and the car was fine. I haven't got too much experience in 4x4 driving, it would be nice if you provided a short demo on how best to manage the car through tough terrain but other than that we found it comfortable

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Our jeep was the perfect vehicle for our Iceland adventure. Would rent again from this company on our next trip back.

Abbiamo affittato un Suzuki Gran Vitara per 8 giorni, prezzi molto buoni per gli standard islandesi. Si tratta di un rent a car locale, con un buon parco macchine. Quando sono arrivato mi hanno fatto scegliere il colore e mi hanno proposto un modello più recente allo stesso prezzo. Per quanto riguarda l'auto non era proprio nuovissima ma ha fatto molto bene il suo dovere. Lo staff è stato gentile e disponibile nel darmi tutte le istruzioni del caso, in un ottimo inglese. Al momento della consegna dell'auto vi lasciano anche un numero da chiamare 24h su 24h per i casi emergenza. Fortunatamente non ne abbiamo avuto bisogno. In definitiva è stata un'esperienza molto positiva, consigliatissimo!

I recently rented a 4x4 from from Northbound. They picked us up from the airport and drove us a short distance to their office to sign the papers. They upgraded us with no charge. In minutes we were ready to go. All went went. The explorer was not new but in great condition. It rained solid for three days and we could have used some new windshield wipers, but all else was fine. Our flight home left at 6am which was before their office was open. They made special arrangements for us to leave the car at the airport. So cooperative and good service. Its great to support small companies. I would definitely rent from them for our next visit.

My experience was amazing with these guys. I made a mistake when booking and had arranged to pick the car up in Reykjavik when really we needed picked up at the Keflavik airport. I called them and within 10 minutes they were at the airport and drove us to get our car free of charge. They also thought the vehicle we booked was too small for the group (which they were very right) and gave us a free upgrade to a larger vehicle. Would definitely rent again!

The car we rented from Northbound was great. Our only complaint was that it was locked in 4WD mode, as it was explained to us that previous clients had caused accidents by forgetting to use it appropriately. However, we found that driving the car whilst locked in 4WD mode in the city, proved quite frustrating, as the car was difficult to drive, especially when reversing. We found the central Reykjavik office difficult to locate, but the staff were very helpful & had been trying to contact us while we were looking for them, but we didn't hear the phone. Great car rental prices & good customer service. I would recommend Northbound to other travellers for car rental in Iceland.

Major issues. - it took ages to get our car once we arrived at their shed - the car already had major damage to doors which was marked down but the passenger door was always difficult to close. It seems that they charge for each new damage to repair the door but they are not doing this. - I had an unfortunate incident with the wind catching the passenger door and damaging it. I confirm that this was my fault and - They are also claiming damage to the front bumper where paint has come off but there are no dents or indentations. We had no other incidents with the car. We claim that the paint on this exposed edge was taken off in the severe sand/ash storms we experienced for which we had taken out insurance. - Ice Rental 4x4 will not reply to my multiple emails to resolve the issue nor provide me with the required documentation for me to make a claim against my travel insurance in Australia. BEWARE
