Lava Car Rental in Iceland

Perfect new big car (Huyndai Tuscon), good service from staff! Personal pick-up at arrival gate Kevlak was nice so we didn't had to search Lava outside the airport in the village. Only comment is that the build-inn GPS didn't work, solution was a Garmin external GPS - free of charge - good and quick solution.

It was great, the 4WD worked well and the car was ideal for the roads. stupidly I did not ask how the heated seats work and only found the button (between the seat and the door) as I was handing the car back.

Experience excellent from start to finish, very relaxed welcome, and although there was a minor issue with a car headlight we were treated with good customer service. The car was perfect for our needs, clean and tidy. I hope to return one day, and will search out Lava Rentals before any other.

After choosing Northbound based on previous reviews, cost, vehicle choice very happy with service I received. I hired two vehicles and Liam was able to help and get a great deal. Thanks for everything.

The car worked great - you would have got a 5 from us had the car not had a minor but enjoying damage from the previous customer: the cod river's door hinge did not work because the wind blew it open and busted it obviously - as a result I always had to hold the door with 2 hands which was a pain with a camera in the hand. pick-up and drop-off worked fine, the office is nice. there is a coffee machine but nobody kind of asks you if you want some...small improvement? some people don't bother to ask. loved the spikes on the Duster - but nobody told us beforehand we would have some - would have been extremely useful to know - especially when in an ice storm.

The car did very well on the roads and in the snow. The weather was challenging, with lots of blowing snow, gale force winds and poor visibility at times. The Duster handled it all very well, and seemed to have excellent gas mileage also. Having the manual in the glove box was a big plus as there were some features of the car that were unfamiliar. I would definitely rent this car again. Your prices were competitive and the good reviews also helped in making the decision to use Northbound.

The car was clean and New,a very good 4|4 quality/price to travell on snowed Road of iceland .

I recommend Lava Auto services because of their amazing customer service. I lost my phone at the car rental location on my last day while returning the Dacia Duster. I realized it during the airport dropoff and the driver took me back to help me look for it. A few other employees helped me go through the rental but we did not find it. They returned me back to the airport immediately so I could make my flight. I went through security and customs accepting that all my photos were for memory. I heard my name called over the speaker system and was asked to go to security. I ran through the airport and one of the Lava Auto employees found my phone and brought it back to the airport for me. Now to the car - they provided me a new (6-month old) rental that was perfect for my 5-day trip through West, South, and Southeast Iceland. The heated seats were the best feature as they helped us stay warm from jumping in and out of the car to view the Northern Lights. The rental location is very convenient for pickup/return at the airport. The process was very easy and I cannot stress enough to check the road conditions. The safetravel.is was great to determine the road conditions daily. On our 3rd day, we went to south Iceland and the wind/snow was the worst I've ever experienced. Thankfully I checked the app and drove slow. I saw many cars off the side of the road along the mountain near Vik.

I had a very good experience with Lava Auto. The car I got was new and in perfect conditions and the car rental itself was stress-free, no pushing from the personnel to sell extras, etc. I will definitely use them again on my next trip to Iceland

Super fast and easy service. Even adjustments on the car return out of the office opening hours were no problem. The car was ready and clean when we arrived, so we had no waiting time. Driving the Dacia Duster was very comfortable and easy. All in all it was a quick, easy and lowpriced service and we could fully recommend Lava Auto Car Rental.

We had a really good experience. The car was just right for our needs and the pick up and drop off from the airport very easy.

Lava Auto offer a great customer service and decent prices for their rental cars. They picked us up from the airport in the middle of a snowstorm and to their office nearby to collect the car. They gave us a discount card for petrol and a number to call in an emergency should anything happen to our car (which we didn't have to use). The car itself was excellent and well looked after and we didn't experience any problems. Would definitely rent here again.

The staff at Lava were friendly and efficient, and the car was in great condition. Their prices were reasonable and the depot is only a 5 minute drive by shuttle bus from the airport. I would highly recommend Lava Auto to anyone looking to hire a car in Iceland.

Very good experience. There was not room for our luggage in the vehicle. The Lava crew was nice enough to haul our luggage to our Reykjavik rental house and return at the end of our stay to haul our luggage back. Could not ask for better service. Thanks for everything!!!

Very good service and support. The car was perfect for the conditions. The 7 seater has little space for luggage but the guy in the office sorted us out with a roof box (and sat nav ) which saved the day. Definitely recommend.

We visited from the UK and were really pleased with the service. Staff are friendly and communicative, prices competitive too. Car was great and just what we wanted. Lava will be my first call when I visit Iceland again hopefully to see the country during the summer months. Thank you.

No issues using Lava Auto Car rental! Picked us up at the Airport with no issue. Car was in good condition. Didn't force us to buy extra insurance. Returning the car was easy and no extra charges/ fines. Drop off at the airport was quick.

The dacia duster was clean and in good condition. It had studded tyres, which was just what we needed. The service we received was excellent.
