Car Rentals in Iceland

I wanted to rent a car in Iceland and luckily found Northbound site where I had found 2022 Toyota Yaris AWD from MYCAR in Canadian dollars which was within our budget. I had options of silver plan and added worry free full coverage as well as rented internet router too so I can use Waze or Google map connecting to wifi in the car which was a piece of mind. The car was just perfect to explore Iceland and MYCARE shuttle service picked and dropped us up from Keflavík airport to its office and back which was 6 minutes away. It only took 10 minutes to get the car keys , paper work and we were all set to go. Out side car had some mud marks but inside was cleaned. I highly recommend Northbound isk site and MYCAR in getting the best deal. Surely will be recommending Northbound as they are very prompt in responding and emailing if there is anything needs clarification. Thank you so much for your service.

From a CEO that owned the largest luxury transportation in North Carolina, you have some issues which can be quickly resolved. You need a better process 1. At the airport, you need a better recovery of your clients, not just running in the front door with a sign (didn't even say Northbound on it said Go Iceland..Found out from another vendor you are a 3rd party vendor - which is OK..just not the right signage. The driver told me he could only take me and not my 10 year old granddaughter and I could come back to the airport and pick her up...Sounds crazy right? So we had to wait another 30 minutes for his return. 2. The check in process was too slow. I listened to all your agents and they weren't speaking the same procedure. 3. The vehicle I was driving should have been retired it had over 112,000 miles, dented, and I even brought it back to your representative twice before I got out of your parking lot- for wheel well scraping, USB ports not working, I was assured the car was drivable - in reality they were too busy and wanted me out of there. 4. The car check engine light came on 200 miles in, I wrote to you all, got a response - I needed to talk to someone else at Northbound. All I wanted to do was to let you know, so I would not get charged for it. 5. The return process was WAY to long. Good thing I took photos of the vehicle prior, because it showed the damage was there prior to my rental. It seems most of your agents challenged all the renters about an issue on the vehicle. 6. I will be going over the invoice and credit card charges from Northbound to make sure I was charged correctly. 7. The only hiccup in our trip - I would have done differently was the rental car experience -

We found Northbound and Lotus to be very professional and would highly recommend them for a car rental in Iceland.

The car worked very well and was comfortable, dependable and fuel efficient.

The pickup was very bad, all other providers were waiting for their customers, we only had to call twice before someone finally came. I gave the time and the flight number so that everything works smoothly. the tires were worn but were then renewed

Service was fast and hassle free Car was just as described. Was slightly in doubt on where to go for the shuttle bus. Perhaps a sign (wait here) if the airport allows? But not a big problem. All in all good experience:)

We rented a Dacia Duster Manual from Lotus Car Rental for our week long trip to Iceland in July. We decided to go with the platinum insurance package as we were planning to drive in the Highlands. The package included the portable wifi as well. Everything went extremely smoothly, the pick up time was very short, the service was excellent. We did not require any assistance on our trip, so cannot comment on that. I will definitely use Lotus on our next trip to Iceland.

Hey there , I rented the car last minute before arrival and when I arrived at the rental agency I thought the car was too small and Aaron anti the agency upgraded me to much larger Toyota can was amazing and comfortable and super efficient we went to some travel destinations and parked in front of the rental place with no issue and we were extremely happy with the car and agency. The car itself and the whole rental experience were phenomenal! The staff at My Car were very pleasant and helpful. The car was a great money value. Renting via Northbound has been smooth. Replies to questions were fast and efficient.

it is a no thrill car , but very reliable a reasonably costed. We did around 2.000 km in 7 days without any problem. I am glad i found Northbound and will not miss to choose them again on my next trip to iceland

The mycar staff is really kind and customer service is great.They are extremely flexible with the shuttle bus service. (Our flight had one hour delay and I only wrote a short email) We additionally booked a portable WiFi and it worked very well, had no issues with that. The car was clean and the Toyota Yaris Hybrid was great to drive. When booking a car keep in mind only 4x4 Cars are allowed to drive on F roads in Iceland. In general we had a great experience with mycar and a fantastic time in Iceland. Totally recommend!

It was a great car to explore the island. It was the perfect mix to drive on the ring road and at the same time to go on the easier F-roads. The car was quite "old" and you could see and feel the +300'000 km it already did. At a first glance the car didn't seen reliable and after 20mins of driving we had an error message on our dashboard. So we turned around only to hear that this is normal for Dacia Dusters... When picking up the car the agent tried to sell us another insurance (even though we were already fully covered) and he wanted to charge us for the extra driver. Luckly we knew what we already paid and had our documents ready. In the end the car did us a great service.

It has been a very good experience, both on the part of Northbound, who responded quickly to the changes in the reservation due to two changes in flights, and with Mycar: the pick-up from the airport to the rental car facilities was very convenient, The car has been what was announced (make, model, very few km, automatic, full tank), and the return was also comfortable, very close gas station, fast delivery and they take you with your suitcases to the airport departure gate. Highly recommended.

Car was as expected. No Taxi Service for us so we have to Pay Taxi twice

Very car, we really like it.

Overall the rent went good, the car was new, perfectly mainteined. Unfortunaly some Little problem went from Lotus, I waited twenty minutes at the airport before checking in, at check-in they told me that I didn't have insurance and therefore I had to take out one for the price of €160. Checkout was flawless.

Everything went well and whole process start till the end was smooth.
