Car Rentals in Iceland

The vehicle was adequate for our use, the main beam was a little weak ( possibly because the age of the vehicle) but was an exceptional price ! And will be recommending your services to friends and family .

we are moderately pleased with nordic camping. firstly the staff do not smile. then, during the first breakfast we realized that the stove was not working. then the second day the vehicle broke down we had to wait 22h at the same place before we come to replace the car. the second vehicle had not been checked before we were entrusted (difficult to open the doors and ventilation problem). what disappointed us the most is the fact of not having an apology or a commercial gesture.

The car was absolutely great even if two light were on the dashboard. And the customer service is good!

The services offered by Fara Touring vehicles was decent, with airport pickup available within 15mins of a call and as early as 5am. Vehicle condition was very good as well. However, I am actually in the process of sorting out a damage claim by Fara as the right mirror was broken. It appears that the Premium Insurance Package that I have chosen was still not enough to cover this, although I was under the impression that this would reduce my excess liability to 0. The company is now charging me 162,000 ISK for a complete right mirror housing, which seems excessive.

Good car, got exactly what we paid for, good services.

The rental process was easy. We were picked up at the airport and drive to pick up the vehicle. So glad we also rented a wifi device as well. It made our navigation so easy without worrying about data usage. The vehicle was an older one but fit our needs and gave us excellent service. Kudos to Icerental 3x4. We chose to get insurance from a third party. Please heed the warnings they give you. The weather is harsh at times and they can give you great tips for handling it. Returning the vehicle was just as easy and they drive us back to the airport. We would highly recommend Icerental 4x4.

The car was great, but if the insurance could cover the wind damage during the winter month would be better.

The car was clean and well presented on arrival at the office. The staff even warmed it up for us which was very welcome

We came as a group of 8 and were told the expedition would be large enough. We packed all of us with all of our suitcases just to find out the front defrost didn’t work. We had to pile out and rent another vehicle. We ended up with a van which was way better. In the future make sure customers are given vehicles which are large enough to accommodate people and luggage

We had a positive experience with Solstice. There were a few small concerns with the car throughout our rental period but we always recieved quick responses from Solstice. The camper functioned well for what we needed it for but it was on the smaller side so we did our best to spend as little time as possible in it if we weren't driving or sleeping. The one thing that we found challenging was having it be a self service pick up, it would have made us more comfortable to go through and check over any damage to the car with an employee prior to taking it to know that the things that we had pictures of and personally noted were in their records as well.

Its a good vehicle for this time of year.

The vehicle we got was amazing, it had so many features that I kept discovering them up until the last leg of our trip. I was probably more interested in the scenery that I didn't notice all the car's features at first. It drove really well and even on bumped, pot-laden gravel roads. a 4x4 is definitely a plus!

Very nice experience. I had drived more than 3,200km in Iceland during my trip. The people from Icerental 4X4 were very nice and gave us all information we should know for driving in Iceland. At last, when I retured the car, they were very kind to send me to my hotel by their shuttle bus. So if you asked me, Icerental 4X4 would be highly recommended.

Together with my wife and my son and his girlfriend I made a trip through Iceland. What a special country with its own 'character'. This also applies to the weather. To admire all the beauty that Iceland offers you have to leave the beaten track. For this we rented a 4x4 at The Northbound. We are very satisfied with the service and the price / quality ratio. Our next trip we will definitely rent a car again at this young but professional company.

Camping cars were really friendly and picked us up and drove us back from/to the airport. We were really satisfied with the car, the tent and the sleeping bags.

Hi! The experience was really great. The process of renting and returning the car was really quick and simple. My flight was delayed by 3.5 hours and there were still no issues in picking-up the car, even though it was at ~2AM. As well I liked the transportation from and back to airport. There is only one slightly negative thing: At the second day the TPMS warrning light appeared in the dashboard. So I constantly had to monitor the tire pressure the rest of my trip. When I returned the car, I was told that this is a known issue for this car, but it would be great to know these kind of things before the trip. Then I wouldn't be nervous because I would be aware of that problem :)

Didn’t start off great as we were a party of 5 and another unrelated party of 6 arrived at the same time. 5 + 6 does not fit a 9 seater bus! Only drivers to offsite depot (around 10 minutes drive from airport, so added about an hour and a delayed start to holiday. Felt sorry for Fara driver as he was also the only front desk so had to complete 2 reservations. Very tight ship! Car performed great over the 3 days but had to streamline a rogue rubber gasket between headlight and front bumper. Whilst this was a 2017 car, it still had 116000km on the clock so be aware you are not getting a new vehicle but it was well maintained and ran sweet. Overall, good value for money and would rent again but be prepared for initial delay. Great employee brought us back to airport and has some great stories of rogue renters so be good to the car!!

Pick up from KEF airport was on time, short drive to office. Dacia Duster was perfect for our mid-November Ring Road (#1) two week trip. Having 4 wheel drive and studded tires made even icy roads feel safe. A few roads such as 25 kms to Dettifoss waterfall were snow covered, deep in parts but no problem with the Duster. A sensor warning light on the dash came on, but a quick call to the office gave us peace of mind and we continued for the next 10 days with no problems. We both highly recommend the people, service, and Dacia Duster!

The Dacia Duster was the right option for us. 2 by 4, with 4 by 4 whenever needed. Comfortable seats, great heating which is very important when you are going on long drives during Autumn/Winter. Staff at Lava Car Rental was super nice. Especial Artur who picked us up from the airport when we arrived and told us a lot about Iceland. What a nice welcome.
