Car Rentals in Iceland

Renting a car from star car rental through Northbound was an easy process. The car was delivered to my hotel in Reykjavik which was very convenient and on the last day I dropped the car near the airport and was drove there in five minutes. I would recommend the Dacia for Iceland it is a great car for the gravel road and we did some F roads with shallow water crossing.

We got a Hyundai i10, which was similar to the Kia Picanto. It was in a correct condition and there was a professional method to indicate the dents and scraches. The pick-up at location was also correct and on time.

Easy car rental process. We were met at the airport with our car after getting our bags. The VW Golf was the perfect size for 3 of us with 3 bags and 3 backpacks. To return the car you just drop it off at the car rental return area and leave the keys in the car. You can easily walk to the airport from there. My only concern was there was no one to check the car over when we dropped it off. I did take a video of our car upon return to be sure I am not charged for any damage that wasn’t there when I dropped it off. Other than that it was a great experience!

Everything went smoothly! Though we did not get a Hyundai Tucson at the Keflavik airport, but a Kia Sportage, we later learned that this is more or less the procedure: you rent the type of the car and not the car itself. The thing is, Kia was perfect and we were really happy afterwards! Nice car, safe, comfortable, easy to drive. The Northbound staff, especially Runar, was very helpful all the way, even before our trip, answering to every question. If you are visiting Iceland, choose Northbound to rent a car!

It was a great little car with a funny little horn!

The car drove great and the accommodations were wonderful. The charging ports did not work at all in the vehicle which was very frustrating but that was our only complaint!

We had a Ford Kuga Was alright, enought space and easy to drive.

The car was amazing. Exactly what you need to explore this amazing country. The roof top makes all the difference. You can stop anywhere and have your room ready in 15sec. The service at lotus was great, quick and efficient. I highly recommend it.

I did not Get a KIA, but I GOT a similar car. When I GOT the car everything was good and got a lot of help. The driving from airport to the car rental was okey. When we were going to give back the car, we had to wait a lot.

First of all the car I had rented was not available as it had an accident. I was offerede a smalller car to start with but we finally agreed to a mini van as we were 5 adults and 5 suitcases. The car was dirty and honestly it was not in great shape either. Lots of dents and scratches and the spare wheel was missing. Gas tank was only half full, the number plate almost fell off and some other minor parts were about to fall off. All that said, the car turned out to be a great choice for our tour of the Ring 1, with lots of space for all passengers and the luggage. It drove without any problems. Except for the spare wheel which I only discovered later, your very helpful handling agent (Birge?) fixed all the issues and made sure the systems was up to date, so I had no issues returning the car.

I would suggest to improve the pick up from the airport I had to wait for your employee more than 1 hour and I had to call your company twice whitout receving updates.

Easy to drive car. Perfect for the ringroad. Smalll luggage compartment.

The overall experience was good. The car did a great job. I do think it is priced pretty high overall and it seems to be showing some age

The car was ok, a bit old, but she did her job :)

The car and the service has been excellence. But Thay forgot to explane US, (both me and my Wife were in front of the employee), the way to pay a tunnel ( the Only One,i think!) . Yes,It was Midnight and everybody were tired, but i had to pay the tunnel and an extra charge of 3000 k not for my fault. All the rest has been perfect.
